Your 2014 Pats predictions

My predictions:

- BB will trade the #1 pick back and then over-draft a defensive back, who will under-perform.

- BB will draft a DT who is a run stuffer and completely useless against the pass. In addition, we will have a defense which continues to allow low-end QBs to put up record numbers.

- Gronk will miss significant time due to injury...again.

- The O-line will continue to deteriorate. Solder will get concussed, Vollmer will suffer another injury, causing both to miss significant time, and the replacements will all be late-round JAGs, and Brady will take a ton of hits as a result.

- We'll lose Edelperson to free agency.

- There will be problems with Brady connecting to receivers, especially deep balls, that will cause people to speculate that he's over the hill and should spend an early pick to draft a replacement. After the season's over it'll be revealed that he's been playing through an injury all season.

- Keenan Allen will continue to emerge into a stud player.

So, what are my predictions for 2014, business as usual.

Wow! My prediction came true and it isn't even the start of the NFL year yet.

--Talib will be re-signed after testing the market. Edelman will not after doing so.

--Armond Armstead will emerge as a very good young player

--Tight end will be significantly improved. Someone like Scott Chandler or Marcedes Lewis will join the team and someone like Arthur Lynch will be a steal in the middle rounds, and Gronk will be healthy for the entirety of the playoffs

--Mayo will return to health and play as steady as ever, Collins will be one of the best players on the team and Hightower will continue his second half improvement and prove a steady, solid MLB. Dane Fletcher and an unheralded rookie will provide solid depth

--There will be two steady vet d-lineman that join the team and help make the position go from very thin to very deep, along with a young rookie that combined with Armstead and Chandler Jones have fans loving their d-line more than since the Seymour-Wilfork-Warren-Jarvis Green days. Will Smith, Tyson Jackson, someone like that. The rookie will be given the Jamie Collins treatment but will show flashes.

--Sadly, Big Vince never plays another down for the Pats.

--The draft will make fans happier than it has in years, because the draft is extraordinarily deep, especially at spots where the Pats need to improve. Many fans will be upset they didn't do what they would have done.

--A safety will be brought in that takes Gregory's spot, be it veteran or drafted. Gregory will be cut. Adrian Wilson will be put on IR before the season begins after looking bad in camp. Fans will be mad and nickname him the Leon Washington of the defense. He'll later agree to an injury settlement, and fans will be more mad.

--Logan Ryan will improve, and Devin McCourty will become a playmaker again

--Special teams will continue to be a strength

--The offensive line's talent will be upgraded, and so will its performance, even without Dante around. There will be a new center that is the best since Koppen, and maybe the best since young Woody, before he had to bother with all that shotgun snapping nonsense. Connelly will re-structure, start at right guard, battle injuries, and fans will be annoyed.

--Blount will re-sign for cheap but Ridley, running for his career, will have the better season. Vereen, cast now off, will stop dropping so many passes and be the best 3rd down back Brady's ever had.

--Pats win 13 or 14 games in the regular season. One of those losses is to the Jets or Dolphins, and fans blame the entirety of it on Josh McDaniels.

--Pats beat a team in the AFC title game that upset the Broncos the week before, with Manning Manning-Facing all over the field.

--Pats beat a Niners team that are the favorites after narrowly beating the Seahawks in another epic title game, with Brady defeating his boyhood team and winning his 3rd Super Bowl MVP. Jim Harbaugh whines a lot and throws his headset after calls. He calls fade after fade to Michael Crabtree in key spots.

--After the win, Brady now gets the media narrative of Greatest.Quarterback.Ever.

--Despite much speculation, Bill and Tom both decide they aren't ready to head off into the sunset just yet. They decide to come back for another round in 2015.

Sorry if I'm being a little pessimistic...:singing:
