That was not a 6 man blitz, it was a rush with inside ILB blitz, one fake and one real.
They had 6 guys going after Brady, count them.

1) He had a clean throwing lane. One ILB was already in his face
2) The Colts outguessed the Pats because they pressed man-to-man, and nobody played deep. No deep safety, no cushion. They were anticipating short routes which is what ensued. If we even had one or two WR on go patterns, the Colts would have been screwed.
Are you disagreeing with yourself? The Colts had a middle blitz that they were showing pre-snap. Throwing to the slot would require Brady to throw into the blitz. He could probably get the ball off but if the DT/ILB jumped up there was too great a chance for a tipped ball...and bad things can happen when a ball is tipped into the air.
What would you expect them to do? Play cover-2? They played press man. Brady identified the mismatch (RB vs. Safety). Delivered the ball ontime against the blitz. Faulk catches the ball 3 yards downfield on 4th and 2.
