State Supreme Court to hear challenges to Prop. 8

I'm tired of liberal judges in CA. When are they going to respect majority of people in CA? We said NO to gay marriage.

It's time for us to put these judges on the ballot so that we can kick them out.

Wait until you see what Obama litters the Federal courts with!

Once again, liberals subverting the will of the people, by using the courts!

Can you only image what Obama appointed judges are gonna do? I'm sure when they are done with this country, Gay Marriage will be only a small stone, compared to the other damage they will do.

SO the people of California (mostly Obama voters, I might add) approve a Constitutional Amnedment, as perscribed by the California Constitution, and the Judges seek to overturn it, Doesn't that bother anyone?

Lets also strip gay people of voting rights and drivers licenses. Also while we are at it, we should make them go to separate bathrooms and grocery stores.

I suppose that since 52% of people voted to add discrimination to a state constitution, that somehow demonstrates a mandate.

Then Obama has one as well, since he pulled in slightly more than that same percentage. Using your arguement, you should fully accept any and EVERY decision he makes.

Bottom line is......WHO CARES ABOUT WHAT OTHER PEOPLE DO WITH THIER RELATIONSHIPS?

Its funny to me how the 'conservative' people who want government out of their lives tend to be the ones who want the government to stop gay people from getting married.

Its frickin a waste of time.

Obama got over 52% of the vote...if you are cool with prop 8, you should SHUT THE FUKC UP about what Obama does. You can't have it both ways.

No-one is talking about banning gay relationships (not that it would be a bad thing IMO). We are talking about banning the privilege of marriage, it's a very different thing. It's not a rights issue.

The second you care about what other people are doing, and how it affects YOU, you become a socialist.

Honesly, I don't understand why homosexual people aren't cool with having civil unions, and having the samee rights as a married couple. They need to chill out about it too.

HOWEVER...that is not what we are 'debating' in this thread. It is about Judges making decisions, and voters overturning those decisions. I don't see where we were talking about rights of marriage and what defines it. I think the whole thing is a dumb arguement, where one side is being a bunch of b!tchez and the other side is being a bunch of a$$holez.

This thread is about Judges...Laws, and state constitutions

What you want to do with your relationship is your business. If your relationship is the result of a dysfunctional society and family, it's everybody's business.

This is not the first time CA supreme court does something like this and i'm frankly tired of these judges.

We aren't talking about what other people are doing. They are allowed to do whatever they want. Although I doubt you're OK with me marrying my sister if I get a vasectomy first, right ?

And the people's voice's have been spoken. Judges should overrule in only the most shocking of cases, like if people voted to re-establish slavery or something crazy like that. This marriage thing doesn't even pass the sniff test for something that should go to a judge.

The judges change laws and constitutions. How many times do people have to say NO to gay marriage so that these fcking judges can understand?

    all divorces are EVERYBODYS Bizzz?

since they all must be a product of SOME kind of dysfunction.....

Its lame, should've never been on the ballot, shouldn't be an issue. Civil Unions should be cool, as long as they have the same rights as married peeps, all sides should be fine with it.

    But they are not....

BOTH sides are little b!tches about a WORD. Its not about rights, its not about being gay or straight, its not about function or chaos.....

    its about the word "Marriage"

we are a moronic society for even debating this.

Believe me, I don't. But we have limits on what society wants to endow marriage privileges to. That includes family members, multiple partners and, yes, gays. Just because it's forced down our throats (sorry for the image) doesn't mean we have to accept it under the heading of political correctness.

Ironically it's also the kind of thing which maintains animosity between groups. People are allowed to be gay. If they would just do it and shut up about supposed rights then they wouldn't be as irritating to the rest of us.

What society accepts has changed throughout the short time our nation has been a nation. I recall African Americans being used as slaves, now one is the president. I recall women not having the right to vote, now they make up 52 % of our registered voters. I recall. $h!t!!!! I even recall interracial marriages being illegal in our TOLERANT nation......imagine if the Obamas never get married and have Barack?

we are certainly a progressive nation.

    Multiple partnets? I'm down!
    Incest? Not down
    Gays? Go nuts (pun intended)

The human race has survived because of NON-unbreeding practices, that one should be wiped out of this arguement. They are not in the same category. Along with Animal-human weddings. You could fukc all the dogs you want, but you will never create a human animal hybrid.

this is about peopel and a WORD....nothing more.

I expect this to fail, btw, I doubt they'll win the argument that it is a right to get married to whoever you want. There's too many other exceptions to make a good argument about that.

you do realize that it was only because of the supreme court that being gay isn't illegal in some states, right? Look up Lawrence v. Texas. The majority cannot and should not be deferred to to decide on the rights of a minority group. You can whine about it all you want and call them "liberal" or "activist" judges, but that's exactly what the courts were designed for. I love that they irritate you though, it means they're doing exactly what they have to.

we'll see. One way or another, California will have gay marriage in the next 5 years and there isn't you or anything anyone like you is going to be able to do about it.

That's true but it's more clear that freedom and voting are a right than marriage.

Until you allow incest you have a flawed argument if it's guaranteed that a pregnancy can't occur.
