HOW are the Patriots in 1st Place, all by their lonesome???

I had it on GOOD AUTHORITY that they SUCKED...and were WELL on their way to 2-14 HELL...just 8 DAYS before we emerged into Sole Possession Of First Place...How is that POSSIBLE???

Get back to me on that...would you?? :D

    I blame that Welker.

We should have traded him when we had the chance.. ;)

Yeah... Now we'll never get that conditional seventh round pick!

    It's all welker's fault.

I tried to get an answer from Rayge Rayge 19...but all communication has been severed to the Hidey Rock....he's under there but I think he and Punxsutawney Phil are locked up in a serious game of CLUE that could last well past early February...

Right, if Patriots 'suck' while being 3-2 and in first place, what does that make the Browns?

Sounds similar to how you can go 13 and 7 and be considered the best team in the NFL.

Or have a quarterback who throws seven interceptions... on one drive and still is considered "elite"

Especially seeing as how there were many who stated that the offense was "underwhelming" last week, while they happened to lead the NFL in pts scored.

"The Buffalo Bills are who we thought they were (frauds)! That's why we took the damn field. Now if you want to crown them, then crown their ass! But they are who we thought they were (frauds)! And we did not let 'em off the hook!"

It's the easy schedule, everyone says so. And they are smarter than most professional coaches.

I don't know...the experts say they have the easiest schedule every year, despite finishing first in their division every year. ( Huh ? What ? )

It can't be their cheating coaches or all world players.

It must be Kraft, buying off the ref's. This team is going down when Goodell bags him.

They'll probably fall to 12-4 next year.

The only thing Goodell is qualified to bag is groceries...

this thought just occured to me...

do you think, when Rex is fired from the jets in the near future...that Bill would be willing to hire him as DC?

Bill would obviously ask him to talk less, and as a Coord. instead of HC he wont have as many chances w/ the media...

i mean, it would b the polar opposite from BB's quite demeanor

(and the guy can field a D....for the most part)

That defense has deteriorated despite spending several 1st round picks, I want no part of Rex, Rob on the other hand... Rob is the only Ryan I would want as a coach on this team.

According to Felger and Mazz 1st place is actually worse than last place now.

I'd guess that the Jet defense has deteriorated due more to GM and personnel type decisions as opposed to Ryan's defensive planning being poor, or him being a bad coach.

In short, the Jets brought in too many bad apples and Ryan lost his locker room.

It wouldn't be a problem for him here as a DC.

    Negative!

ESPN would hire Wrecks. With Herm Edwards, Eric Mangini, Wrecks Ryan in studio, the modern day sports version of the "Three Stooges" is assembled.

Meanwhile, John Clayton can continue to work at home:

I would imagine that he is much more interested in building on the current young(er) coaches of Matt Patricia and/or Pepper Johnson, not to mention that he has their loyalty and respect.

It seems like there are always good DC's out there, but we tend to stay in house, and I think that will continue.

Meh. It's all good. The bandwagoners don't count for squat anyway. They're the same chino-wearing wine-drinking gits that bring Muffy and Buffy and Biff out to the game, then sit and text or chat about their portfolios.

They get all the Patriots news they need from Felger and Mazz and bounce from one opinion to another like a meth-soaked pinball.

Me, I'll wear the laundry, drink heavily and continue to be a Pats homer.

It's all good. Even when it isn't.

This is a smartass thread done wrong. No one really thought we were going 2-14.

Most ppl (myself included) thought we shouldve won the Ravens game, and possibly even the Cards game.

The thread is tongue in cheek. I can certainly recall predictions of 9-7 during the Buffalo game, possibly worse. Many doomsday fans were condemning this team to mediocrity or worse way too early, which is the point of the thread.

    Yup.....

However, if the Patriots manage to lose today, I'll be steering clear of the board for a couple days. I just can't deal with all the Chicken Littles that seem to relish in misery, doom and gloom.

But but but they were finished after losing to the Ravens! Left for dead! When does the Bruins game start?

Side note but I love Off the Grid's all-out assault on font formatting. Makes for a more amusing read. :D

We should all just face up to reality: between the Bills dominant defensive line and the the Tebow-Sanchez Wildcat, we never had a chance. We just should have packed it in and started planning for 2013.

Yeah, start losing games now so we can win the Barkley sweepstakes! Get that "brady" guy out of here! He doesn't know what he's doing.
