WR ranking 54 --MARSHALL Brandon -University of Central Florida 6-4.3...222...4.72 -------- 332.44 Great Size, can catch Inside, Solid on Defense in 04
I don't know how old that write-up is, but he's in the Hula Bowl listed at 6'6". He reportedly awed the scouts and coaches with his performance in practice and he was the target of choice for the QB making some nice grabs. He beat press coverage with a nice physical move to score a touchdown. He also made a nice grab on a throw into double coverage where he caught the ball knowing he was going to be hit. He catches with his hands and he's strong.
What makes his really great from a Patriots' perspective, he played FS his junior year to help his team out - and led the team in tackles. He's a 1,000 yd receiver coming out his senior year. He was interviewed after his TD catch and told the sideline reporter playing FS helped him learn to be more physical as a WR and gave him a greater appreciation on how a WR could attack a defense. :rocker:

"This is a former defensive back that shows the physical toughness needed from his former position and he uses on the field these days.
He has the size, speed, burst and nice pass catching skills you would hope for, I also like his aggressiveness and lack of hesitation to get upfield after the catch, but I would like to see more (YAC) yards after contact and make things happen with more creativity."
UCF played their first bowl game ever in Hawaii against Neveda (who beat Fresno State the week after they played USC so tough). UCF put up a very good fight and nearly won the game if I remember correctly. Their coach is the one who lost his Notre Dame gig for fabricating his resume, he spent several years on Tice's staff in Minnesota.
Isn't this Asante's college?
