Ok so on clsoer inspection they have a rally every week...which I think might make it worse. But it said hundreds of people were there today. Why is this the top story on indystar?

That's about the same amount of people who showed up for their victory parade.

Which still make sit pretty sad. Like I said, I'm now more concerned with why an every week pep rally is front and center on the newspaper of record. Whatever.

I don't see the big deal here, they have been doing this for along time, Im sure if you did some more inspections you will see that other teams probably do something like this also..

You can call it sad if you want thats your god given right, but if the Pat were doing something like that im sure you wouldn't think it was sad

Honestly? It just seems kind of funny. Like a high school pep rally. Maybe more teams do it, just never heard of it.

To be honest there isn't a heck of a lot to do in Indy, so it just gives people something to do, I think they started it awhile back when support wasn't at the highest in Indy when we had LA rumors flying around, they were just trying to reach out to the fans to get them behind the team. Im sure it might seem silly to other teams fans. I have never been to a rally, I don't see driving two hours to one.

It shows support for their team... who really cares if they have a rally? C'mon guys, lets not get whiney and make fun of people for supporting their team.

Please do enlighten us on how many that was? I am assuming that was prior to the 60,000 at the stadium who waited hours to hold the victory celebration. Tommysgirl huh? So sad for him.

Fair enough, but it does leave Indy wide open for a lot of jokes. warranted or not.

yeah does seem kind of High Schoolish when you think about it. Its probably a cool place to be able to hang out with people of your favorite team though, but I have never been and doubt I ever will because I just live too far away, now I don't mind driving the two hours for the games though..:D

yeah thats true, but I just don't let it bother me, other teams fans have the right to think whatever they want.

Alot of stuff is all centrally located in Indianapolis, at the center of downtown is a business district and 4 blocks away is the RCA DOME, so its pretty easy to have a lunchtime ralley or fan deal downtown everything is right there.

I'm not sure how or what the logistic are of Boston, Foxboro, but that is one of the nice things about hosting the NCAA tournaments and other events, its all downtown, Conseco Fieldhouse (The Pacers), Victory field (triple A baseball).

The Rally is really no big deal, some cheerleaders, free junk, people just go there during lunch.

I think its cool to have the city get behind its team, I guess it can be criticized, but its not a bad thing, imho.

Well since there are only about 1M in the area that could be a little difficult. So compared to LA or NY, your post series celebration was a small family reunion. I'll give you credit for one thing, nobody died this time.

We will probably never get that high, we just don't have that many people in the Indy area.

    Dear ColtinIraq:

I've noticed that you've frequented our board in the last week. Your tone has been generally confrontational and for the most part, you've kicked the edge of troll with many of your posts. I don't have any specific problem with you, per se, just pointing out that your contributions here haven't really been analysis-oriented as they have been argumentative and trash-talky.

So, that said, I just wanted to inform you that on Monday, after the Colts lose, I'm going to start a thread specifically for YOU, in which I will give you the opportunity to eat your crow. It will say a lot about you, whether you show up and take your hat off. I look forward to seeing how you respond.

    Take care,
    Grizzafted

Since they don't seem all that confident about a win - with players already spinning how the game is meaningless in the grand scope of winning the Super Bowl (they're right though home field advantage IS important for the Colts)

... I guess they figure that now's the time to have some festivities.

In all fairness are you going to start a thread for him if the Colts end up winning?
