    SHOOTING ELEPHANTS IN A BARREL
Wed Mar 7, 6:41 PM ET
    Ann Coulter

Lewis Libby has now been found guilty of perjury and obstruction of justice for lies that had absolutely no legal consequence.

It was not a crime to reveal Valerie Plame's name because she was not a covert agent. If it had been a crime, Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald could have wrapped up his investigation with an indictment of the State Department's Richard Armitage on the first day of his investigation since it was Armitage who revealed her name and Fitzgerald knew it.

With no crime to investigate, Fitzgerald pursued a pointless investigation into nothing, getting a lot of White House officials to make statements under oath and hoping some of their recollections would end up conflicting with other witness recollections, so he could charge some Republican with "perjury" and enjoy the fawning media attention.

As a result, Libby is now a convicted felon for having a faulty memory of the person who first told him that Joe Wilson (news, bio, voting record) was a delusional boob who lied about his wife sending him to Niger.

As opposed to Bill Maher who said it was too bad the Talbian were unsuccessful in their assasination attempt.

    he didn't say that......come on?

    Maher:

Don't get me wrong: I've never joined the Dick Cheney Fan Club. But what I said Friday -- and what I believe -- is that the Vice President has presided over a bungled execution of a war in which thousands of our bravest continue to die. And I believe that were he not in power, our troops would likely come home sooner. But I don't wish him dead.

Ironically, I made my comments during a discussion about Free Speech, which is one of the chief reasons that I love my country.

From an article on the Bruhaha from the NYpost

HE may be backpedaling but it's not a secret where he is coming from. If Coulter says the same thing about H Reid?

    well:

"it was too bad the Talbian were unsuccessful in their assasination attempt"
    -you

    and

"But I have zero doubt that if Dick Cheney was not in power, people wouldn't be dying needlessly tomorrow . . . I'm just saying if he did die, other people, more people would live. That's a fact."
    -Bill Maher

Those are two different statements, quit listening to FOCKSnooz!

    You're quite the editor, HD.

Here's the germane part of Maher's comments about Cheney:

    (BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

BILL MAHER, HOST, HBO'S "REAL TIME": I have zero doubt that if Dick Cheney was not in power people wouldn't be dying needlessly tomorrow. If he did die, other people — more people would live. That's a fact.

    (END VIDEO CLIP)

If that is not the most thinly veiled call for the assassination of the Vice President, I don't know what is.

Bill Maher loves anything that is contrary to the basic values of America. He exists to tear the real America down and replace it with his version, totally subjective and centered on himself and others like him. Iow: total chaos. In today's world that would give America's independence and sovereignty about ten more years, at best.

No thanks to Bill Maher and his ilk.

The more I read Coulter's piece, the more sense she makes. She has made a brilliant analysis, a perfect comparison, and the conclusion is irrefutable.

    Absolute genius!!

Re: Putting On My Moderator's Hat

"She is feeding their desire for hate. There is nothing remotely like it on the Left. Have liberals said hateful things? Sure. But none have made a cottage industry out of it. The fact she exists, and continues to command so much attention from her fan base, is an indictment not on her, but on conservatism itself."

Re: Putting On My Moderator's Hat

"This makes it official: It's illegal to be Republican."
What a self important whine. Poor victims, those Republicans. They never get what they want. Nobody lets them do anything! this douche needs to STFU along with her pi-s and moan friends in the media. How the hell does she think we got into Iraq. Remember the "Contract with America" started with that two-timing phoney, Jesus-freak Gingrich?

For the record, Coulter and her pasty-faced friends are not conservative in the real definition of the word. There needs to be a new term invented for these wierdos. What this skanky whore "writes" or says has less to do with conservatism (the pre-Nixon Goldwater kind) than it does with this new definition of "conservatism" that is really just religiously-based fascism that bears no resemblance to what conservatism really is. This destructive "neo-conservatism" is based on the teachings of the bible, a book which many claim to be the "Word of God". Conservatives know that religion is a personal and private thing better left out of public discussion, never mind politics.
