Maroney is averaging 2.1 ypc this season, with a total of 74 yards on the season, on 36 carries. ( 1 lost fumble, 0 TD ). Randy Moss has 18 catches for 236 yards for the Vikings/Titans since leaving NE.

Danny Woodhead has 355 rushing yards and 334 receiving yards as a Patriot. That is correct, he has been significantly more productive that both Randy Moss and Maroney COMBINED. ( Oh yeah, he also plays special teams ).

That statement is ridiculous. Woodhead is about 10x Maroney and Moss combined.

In all seriousness, Woodhead truly is much, much more valuable than these two guys. In addition to his attitude and energy, people underestimate his incredible physical gifts because of his height.

Moss, at this point in his career, could be replaced by a mid-round draft pick; a guy who is tall, has good hands, but does not possess elite speed. (Ramses Barden of the Giants comes to mind.)

Maroney is a dime-a-dozen player. There are probably about 20 guys that are Free Agents who could offer you the same production.

Now, how many guys out there are small enough that they are extremely difficult to tackle, run a 40 in about 4.3 with amazing acceleration, can block a pass rush consistently, and are sure handed?

The Patriots won the lottery this year, and the Jets were STOOOPID to waste one of their few draft picks on a third-down/special teams guy when they had this talent there the whole time.

I don't see how Maroney and Moss's stats with other teams matter. When those 2 were here last year and got regular reps, they each outproduced Woodhead statistically.

That said, the team is better off now and Woodhead is a big part of that.

And Woodhead is something that neither of those two are: versatile. There are not many players who can truly play both RB and WR. Woody is one of them.

Unlike either of those two, Woodhead also plays on special teams.

In regards to Maroney, that is not true at all. Woodhead is outproducing Maroney statistically.

"9. Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis lined up heavily on wide receiver Wes Welker on Monday, but it wasn't on every single play. After the game, Revis said he wasn’t thrown on all night, but O'Brien said that wasn't a conscious decision by any means. "No, that wasn’t part of the plan," O'Brien said. "We don't go into a game saying that we're not going to throw at this guy or this guy. We just execute the play based on what the coverage is, and that’s how we do it."

^^^^is this true? i could swear the first pass of the game was to welker while gaurded by revis....

This is the difference between the Patriots and the Jets. Could you really see Devin McCourty excluding himself from a 45 point embarrassment? Revis has always been a selfish ass, and now he's just one of eleven guys on the field, making little difference in the game due to planning, earning a gigantic contract similar to an elite free agent.

Yeah I was too lazy to look up the actual #'s but he now I see he is on pace to beat out Maroney by about 100 yards, I was off by saying outproduce but Maroney was definitely in the ballpark. And Moss put up almost 1300 yards himself on this team.

Woodhead is more versatile and has a better attitude, right now he is a better fit for our team than the other 2. I'll just leave it at that.

Revis was at best deliberately misleading. There was at least one completion to Wes that I noticed where Revis was on him but was picked by Branch. I guess Revis didn't consider that his fault.
