Maybe we should outlaw abortions after we outlaw guns.

Woman dies after abortion at Planned Parenthood clinic - Chicago Sun-Times

Tonya Reaves, 24, of the 1500 block of N. Kildare, was pronounced dead at 11:20 p.m. Friday at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. She was taken to the hospital from the Planned Parenthood clinic at 18 S. Michigan Ave.

An autopsy done Saturday listed the woman’s cause of death to be hemorrhage, with a cervical dilation and evacuation, as well as an intrauterine pregnancy as contributing causes, according to the medical examiner’s office. Her death was ruled an accident.

Calls to local and national Planned Parenthood offices were not returned.

I'm pretty much against abortions for maintaining lifestyle convenience but who is trying to outlaw guns? I know some people are in this country but I haven't seen anyone here on this board calling for that.

Prior to the SCOTUS speaking on this issue, deaths during abortions were commonplace... now they happen, just as they do when any medical procedure takes place. That is why you sign a consent form, complete will possible outcomes...

This woman voluntarily submitted to this procedure, the folks in Aurora did not....

I'm guessing we'd be seeing more of this type of "accidental" death once abortion clinics are banned. Just a hunch.

It's just Wolfpack tro...beating on another strawman.

I think the analogous argument would be states are allowed wide discretion to regulate abortion, maybe we should consider regulating guns to some extent, as well.

Source for what the Aurora Victims participating voluntarily, or the women consenting to this medical procedure???

Very appalling that every death whether it be a shooting in Chicago or a women dying during a legal medical procedure automatically becomes some type political point by the hardcore right. One has to wonder where all the decency and respect for the deceased and their families have gone...

The Christian thing to do is respect the dead and support their familes during times of grieving, no politicizing the event to further an agenda.

I knew someone whos sister died in a back alley abortion in the late sixties. Getting back to the the here and now this women knew there was a risk something might happen, there are risks associated with any medical procedure. Senator Murtha died a couple of years ago after laprascopic gall bladder surgery. Thats not much more risks than having your tonsils removed. Sh!t happens.

Thats nice, now can you find us 8,774 women who died from abortion.

However, the figures themselves are astounding for Brits used to around 600 murders per year. In 2010 - the latest year for which detailed statistics are available - there were 12,996 murders in the US. Of those, 8,775 were caused by firearms.

It was 1968 or '69, before roe vs wade. My girlfriend at the time was telling me about how her brother was killed in Vietnam very early on and that her sister died from an abortion. I'm trying to recall something from over thirty years ago. From what i can remember her sister got pregnant and her boy friend who was a medical student tried to chemically induce an abortion. What exactly happened i don't remember except she died.

I take it you're opposed to abortions and that life begins at conception?

Or she'd been raped - or a victim of incest or she was married and already had 6 children under the age of 7.

Or, maybe you're right...maybe she got carried away one night and the condom failed - I was unaware, however, that being sexually active was grounds for the death penalty.
