Kudoe to the Giants. Normally I defend Patriots policies but this is one that irritates the heck out of me too. Even in normal years, most teams don't require the season ticket payments until May or June (or allow for some sort of payment plan to push it back even further).

Pretty sad that I have to come up with about $4,000 by the 31st and I sure as heck ain't seeing as much money from the guys who normally come in with me on them.

FWIW, though, at least you know that if there are games cancelled, you'll get a refund plus interest (granted, only 1%, but that's about what you'd get if you kept it in the bank).

The Maras were there in person working to broker a deal with the NFLPA, the Krafts not so much

I personally don't see the issue with still having the money due. It sucks coming up with the $ every year at this time but I'm pretty sure Kraft isn't going to take me for the $1100 x 10 I'm going to give them. If games are cancelled credits/refunds will be issued just like the playoffs. If the season is cancelled than I'm all paid up for 2012. I'd rather have it due when I planned for it then spend the money and get a letter when this is settled saying the money's due in 30 days.

At the very least, follow the Panthers and allow for just a 10% down-payment. Though I would like to see them follow the Giants lead and not require any money until a season is confirmed.

Wow. Where's the holier than thou crowd now? Whenever some dare to criticize the Kraft's they are routinely slammed here. Especially me for example.

Better that Bobby collects some cash now than cutting Patriots employees salaries right away like most teams are doing

Why should any of us care if the Patriots cut the salaries of some of their employees? Especially if there is less work for them to do, which will certainly be the case if there is indeed a prolonged lockout. I am sure a lot of people in this forum suffered the same fate, if not one which is far worse, over the past few years.

Not to defend the Krafts, but the Maras did force most of their season ticket holders to fork over thousands of dollars (in some cases, tens of thousands of dollars) a little over a year ago for PSLs. Delaying them paying their season tickets until there is more certainty for games is the least they could do.

As for Kraft, he lost me defending him on tickets prices and payments when he started to force all their season ticket holders to only buy their tickets using Visa. I know he had a deal with Visa, but it is very unconsumer friendly to force people to use a card they may not want to use to buy tickets. Spending thousands of dollars a year on season tickets, I would want my rewards points.

I wonder if any other teams have the same "we only accept 1 credit card" policy.

Just to add salt to the wound - the "interest will be calculated for the period beginning on the date that a game is canceled through the date that the refund is processed." - not from the date that the Patriots get my money.

I think an awwwwwwwwwwwwwww-ful lot of people will be giving up their season tickets once the Brady-Belichick years are over. There's a good chance that group will include me.

Yes, I know the team sold out before Brady arrived, but we no longer have a fan base who gets excited over a 9-7 season and maybe making the Wild Card. Unless the prices drop, the secondary market will be much cheaper.

Kraft was there for 3 days... He could have left if he felt that the Mara's were working in his best interest or that the Union Representatives we're not listening to him when he was trying to speak with them. We don't know what happened.

Heck, I'm trying to remember the last time I got interest back on anything I paid for in advance that wasn't delivered...

Pat's fans continue to raise the bar, on and off the field. I can't afford to go to games these days what with all the whiners hogging the tickets and those they don't selling for double face value and more on the secondary market. I guess I'll have to start reluctantly looking forward to the day Woolfie and co. vacate the bandwagon in anticipation of less than double digit game winning seasons ruining their frontrunner fan experience.

I'm a season ticket holder (4 seats) and I will send my check in this Friday. Due dates, whether it's on 3/2, 3/31 or sometime in April or even May is the same thing. It's a prepayment for an event in August or September-February so the due date is irrelevant as I see it. At some point in time the season will be played and the team has put a plan in place that season ticket holders will have options per the letter the Pats sent out in Feb (package to season ticket holders). It says: If we learn some games will be missed, as soon as it is known how many, the Patriots will refund money in a check or as an investment toward next season. They will do so within 30 days of the news breaking. The refund will include 1 percent interest because the team had the fans' money for six months. Some teams are offering interest, but not all.

So no season ticket holder will be harmed so it seems like a non-issue or at least it is to me. It's something I budgeted and I chose to pay for and I know when the bill comes due every year, it's not a mystery. I know there are obvious issues with the CBA but ultimately the situation will be figured out and I will eventually have to pay, it's not like my money is earning any substanial interest sitting in the checking account and like mentioned I did budget for this yearly expense.

Not when I had season tickets. Besides, I use my Amex near exclusively for points and/or cash back (have two Amex cards). What will a few thousand dollars worth on Visa rewards points do for me?
