not knowing the status of Kevin Faulk... I wouldn't mind tossing a draft pick to the Ravens.

    thoughts?

    #50 Jersey

He's better than BJGE, but the bigger issue is the inconsistency of the run-blocking..

    I'd rather trade a 4th for Maroney and a 6th.

This guy is a first class meathead.

I'd say we should look into it and find out exactly what they want. He would be an improvement over most of our guys.

Unless the Pats can get him for a sixth or seventh round, kinda defeats the purpose of trading away Maroney. McGahee isn't any better than Maroney although he is better than BJGE.

Magahee is definitely better than Maroney. He doesn't fumble as much and can even catch the ball.

Maroney had a fumbling problem last year, but before last season he fumbled one time his entire career. Granted he may be better suited for the Pats' offense.

Ugh. So we just traded an average back and now we're going to trade for another one? I'd rather just call up Javarris James or resign Thomas Clayton at this point.

Well, that will be an expensive acquisition. He could cost several million in helmets alone.

    Comparing them isn't that simple.
Maroney is more effective in space. McGahee is more of a power runner. He is really more of a replacement for BJGE than for Faulk. Not a great blocker, but runs hard. 28 years old. Averaged 5.0 ypc LAST YEAR, on 109 carries. Showed he doesn't need to be fed the ball all day to produce.
Nothing against the Law Firm, but every aspect of his game is marginal. He is a classic #4, not good enough to start but reliable to have around. I'd be much more comfortable with McGahee.
If the offer is reasonable go for it. Right now, we need to get 3 new running backs this coming offseason, might as well start looking towards the future and get a vet.

If he available for a 4th, we should do it. He is a power back that would replace Green-Ellis in the depth chart.

We don't need another runningback...we have Danny Woodhead.

He will be an alternate to the 2011 probowl. You heard it here first.

RBs have a very short shelf life. I wouldn't trade a high pick for anyone over the age of 26. A mid round pick. Maybe, if there's not too much wear on the tires. A Corey Dillon type would be fantastic. But that kind of RB doesn't grow on trees and is often unavailable.
