I think they made a huge mistake not letting Palin comment after the debate last night (while Biden made the rounds on the networks).

Really, all she had to do was say that McCain did great and reiterate his high points. ALL of the questions that were lobbed @ Biden were softballs. I mean really... if they didn't think she could handle those, then she is in big BIG trouble come next Thursday.

Ed Schultz (take it for what it's worth) reported yesterday:

So... the question is simple. Will they allow her to debate?

Seems as though they are afraid to unleash her.. as much as she is a powerful speaker.. there are some obvious weaknesses..

I don't see any conceivable way they can let her debate. Does she know who the President of Iran is? Does she know what a Sunni or Shia Muslim is? Does she know who the President of Russia is? This is an absolute joke, and I cannot understand how conservatives defend this woman. She is absolutely clueless.

I get it, it was a "smart political move" for a quick bump in the polls by creating some hype and taking some of the "change" rhetoric away from Obama, but this is going to backfire in the worst possible way for the Republicans. She isn't what you thought she was. She's not the hard nosed conservative firebrand you were hoping would give hell to the Democrats, she's a total liability and if she is allowed to debate she will lose the election for McCain.

You can give me all of the canned BS responses you want about how "she has more executive experience than Obama" and "she drives Democrats crazy." But the fact of the matter is that when the cameras are rolling Obama, Biden and McCain sound competent and aware of what's going on and she sounds like a 6th grader BSing her way through a book report on a book she hasn't read. I really hope they let her debate because the gaffes that will come from it will be endless, but I honestly think that McCain would be better off taking the hit that would come from getting her out of it than let her get up there and embarrass him. Just use the retarded baby excuse or something, it's worked before.

Nice to see you back Wildo ... ;)

She'll debate ... I'd be more worried about a Joe Biden senior moment really.

Biden says stupid things, but people will forgive gaffes if they get the idea that he at least knows what is going on.

Oh please, try to pick up on sarcasm. The baby is a political prop, not a person, that's the point.

It's a shame you don't know me very well. I would never use the word "retarded" to describe a down-syndrome person. The tone of how I'm saying it probably doesn't translate through text, so I'll forgive you your knee-jerk reaction. I don't pass the buck, bucko, but I'm surely going to give the party of intolerance a taste of their own medicine and hope they react as emotionally as you did. Proves their hypocrisy.

The point I was TRYING to make was that the Rovian politics of the right is totally shameless. They most certainly will have a discussion in that camp that starts with something like, "can we use the retarded kid to get out of it." I was trying to harp on the shamelessness of the right. If that was misconstrued I apologize.

you are conveying a point, unfortunately the way it was done was callous and undermined your original intent.

you're point would have been much more powerful had you conveyed it better
