I sincerely hope so, but even if he could not, the running game can be good, with Morris and the return of Taylor i think that is difficult for Lawrcence to have as many carries as he had in this past games.

Im in favor of anyone running the ball for any yards, at this point. Just to clarify, i mean for the whole game, not just the first half

no now that sammy morris is back the pats wont give him more then 10 att a game

tha pats dont run the ball more then 20 times a game

so faulk will get about 5 att on drews and morris and maroney will get the other 7 or 8 att each

He will last week we saw brady go back to the center and return of the 2 TE based offence. As this OL gets healthy we will get to a more running sets to keep the balance and ofcourse create play action pass.

He'd need over 275 yards in the last 4 games, which is right around 70 yards per game. Personally, I hope he does it because he's been running well and should be given a decent amount of carries each week. My gut tells me he'll get it. I think he's got at least one 100 yard game in him over the final 4, which would obviously help out a lot.

I voted yes but I changed my mind

I think he is capable but with Morris back I doubt he'll see the ball enough

I hope so, but I voted no.

Nothing against Maroney. The last few games his running has been exactly what I hoped for. But remember, our current offensive playcalling (and I mean 'offensive' in every sense of the word). Even if Maroney is cutting through opposing D's like butter he'll be platooned with other backs at random times and we'll probably be in the shotgun 75% of the time, running draws when Brady isn't forcing the ball into double coverage because only two WRs we're sent on routes.

No. He needs to average 68.75 yards per game for the rest of the season. That's not going to happen with Sammy Morris back and Fred Taylor coming back.

Unless I counted the years wrong, he's playing for a new contract. He will do anything in his power to get as many yards as he can. I'm sure he feels that he has proven himself enough this year to get more carries than Morris. So, yes I believe he will.

Doubtful now that Sammy is back, and Taylor is coming back soon(I HOPE anyways with him practicing) as well.

I just don't see him getting enough touches.....he'd have to rip off some big gainers, so in that sense I sure hope so!!

After his second biggest game on the ground this year, he is now 182 yards away from surpassing his career high.

Morris will not take away his carries after yesterday.

Maroney has Buffalo, Jacksonville, and Houston left. Only Jacksonville has an average run defense and Buffalo has the worst run defense in football. I think Maroney will pass his career high for rushing AND he has already surpassed his career TD highs which I'm certain he will get at least 12 TDs this season.

Maroney had 94 yards on 22 carries yesterday with Morris and Faulk both active.

He's a 664 yards through 13 games. He needs 182 yards in 3 games to surpass his 2007 career best. That works out to less than 61 YPG. He's been averaging almost 70 YPG over the last 8 games since we started giving him the ball.

Not a given, but his chances are favorable. It's extremely unlikely, but not impossible, that he could even get to 1000 yards this season, which would require him to average 112 YPG over the next 3 games.

His contract is up at the end of next year. Then we'll see if the Pats organization and the Maroney fans here see eye-to-eye.

I think resigning him is a no-brainer... at the right price/length. Last thing we want is for him to get complacent with a fat contract, not that he's earned it in his time here. Even though he is still very young, I would prefer to see a 1-2 year contract.

    Disable Jersey

He's a running back. Assuming he doesn't go down with injury between now and the end of his contract, he'd be a fool to accept a 1-2 year contract when that time comes.

Taylor will be back this week, and I expect a big majority of the runs will be given to him now. So that will also hurt Maroneys chances. I dont see him surpassing his previous total of yards. I say 80 yards shy.

Maroney with 81 yards today on some tough running, giving him 735 on the season. 100 yards needed in the next 2 games to tie his 2007 single season best of 835 yards. He's averaging 71 YPG over the last 9 games since being given the ball on a regular basis,
