I don't pretend to understand all the points of the CBA contract, but something I read makes me think that players will have to stay with a team for six years before becoming free agents, not four. Will that apply to Givens? AV?

To someone who understands all this--please help me through my confusion.

No, because they're not under contract.

No, not for Givens, and it only applies to players in 2008-.

    Givens has 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 to make him an unrestricted F.A.

At least per Curran. He says it's 2003 drafted players - on.

The 6 year requirement is in an uncapped year, 2007. This is a capped year so the 4 year requirement applies.

Thanks, Gentlemen. It's a pleasure to have it explained by people who actually understand it.
