in short..yes..i think he will be back

Please. This is much ado about nothing. Everyone knows the deal.

He'll be in Foxboro before the end of August.

56-18 -- so much for the wisdom of PatsFans crowds. :(

I haven't completely given up hope of a post-week-1 return of the old guard, but it doesn't look good.

(And a special prize to Nostra-shmessy for the first confident wrong prediction of the new season.)

Jersey number renounced.

Locker nameplate removed.

Still a fork in him, he's done.

Watching Fleger and Mazz. So we're squeezing this guy for a measly 500k$?! This team makes no sense sometimes. This is where the Krafts get the rep as being cheap bastids. I don't understand a dik move like this, which is literally threatening TB's health. Stupid and greedy. :mad:

I agree with that thought. Never say never. So, why is the poll closed?

Much, of course, will depend on how the O line plays in Tennessee.

The question then, would be, who calls who first?

If the makeshift OL sends Brady to IR then there is no sense to get Waters back anyway.

I truly think Brady is going to be in trouble if he can't get the ball off quickly on passing downs sunday,I am hoping for a lot of screens and Ridley producing.

So you read a report and surmize that it makes no sense but then go ahead and attribute the illogical report to a mistake by the Patriots rather then the report itself?

Not that this cant be true but other reports said he wants to play closer to home this year so we at least know one reporter got something wrong but we have no idea what the Pats actually did or did not do.

The point of the poll was to determine opinion at that stage of the off-season.

The season doesn't start for two days. The poll didnt ask if he would be in uniform, just if he will return. :)

Somehow, and I dont know why, I believe he will return. The one question though is, who will call who first.

Yep. The front office and team is definitely going to break down in their stance and pick up the phone due to the play of the week #1 (of 17) offensive line.

That sounds just like their pattern ;)

The one question though is, who will call who first.

If your name isn't Brady, Mankins, or Wilfork (otherwise staples of the team with many seasons remaining) then they certainly aren't going to 'cave' to the demands of a 35+ year old RG who will be here for a few-several more months at best.

He did a good job last year, but let's not pretend like it's keeping Belichick up at night either. He'll plug in Connelly, McDonald, and Thomas and go from there.

That's why depth is so important on this team, in case of injuries or other unexpected circumstances, which are very 'expected' for Bill Belichick.

This really isn't that big of an issue. Waters is not an important member of this team moving forward, or they would have already caved to his demands months ago, as they had plenty of time all summer.

Belichick and the front office will treat it as if it were an injury, and I imagine that they have been preparing the next man in line now for at least several weeks.

Waters is not part of the future at all, and he would have been a small fraction of the team's success this year. They've done better on the offensive line with less to work with in the past.

I beg to differ.

Solder might be a better RT than LT;
Mankin$ is less than 7 months removed from knee surgery;
Connolly is a better Center than RG;
Vollmer is too feckin unreliable;
and it doesn't get any "less" than Ryan Wendell.

Ladies & Gentlemen, the starting Offensive Line for your New England Patriots.

Come to think of it, they have done better in the past; in fact, this may be the worst starting OL
in the Belichick/Brady era.

QUESTION: How much is a pro-bowl RG who knows our system well worth to the patriots.

ANSWER: less than $1.4M plus incentives

WHY is that the right answer ??????????????????

Go to the other thread. It's more relevant right now.

And in fact, it may be the best.

I'll take it over Light-Compton-Koppen-Andruzzi-Klemm
and thats not even close
