Wikileaks cable says Iraqi children shot in head during US raid
Wikileaks cable says Iraqi children shot in head during US raid

In his email to McClatchy, Alston wrote, the “troops entered the house, handcuffed all residents and executed all of them. After the initial MNF intervention, a U.S. air raid ensued that destroyed the house.”

Alston added “Iraqi TV stations broadcast from the scene and showed bodies of the victims (i.e. five children and four women) in the morgue of Tikrit. Autopsies carries (sic) out at the Tikrit Hospital morgue revealed that all corpses were shot in the head and handcuffed.”

The cable follows closely the information neighbors provided Knight Ridder reporters at the time. The neighbors said American troops approached the house around 2:30 a.m. and a firefight erupted. In addition to the exchange of gunfire, troops were supported by fire support from helicopter gunships.

The new cable also supports the original report from Col. Fadhil Muhammed Khalaf, the assistant chief of the Joint coordination Center. The initial report said: “the American forces gathered the family members in one room and executed 11 persons, including five children, four women and two men. Then they bombed the house, burned three vehicles and killed their animals,” McClatchy notes.

If Saddam wasn't trying to build a nuke with yellow cake and mushroom clouds, we would've never invaded...errr.....LIBERATED Iraq.

    You just wait.....

in a few years, when the christian nation of Iraq is electing Jeb Bush to his 3rd term, the Bush administration will have the last laugh....YOU'LL SEE....

BTW (off topic a bit) did you get a chance to read Cheney's Book? Reminds me of another text written almost 2000 years ago called "The Bible"

The problem , Harold, is that he can't be both a "socialist" and a war-expanding, pro-corporate, pro-Wall St. drone. He's much closer to your side than he is ours. Some day you'll get that.

My side doesn't want him, he's weak and untrustworthy, the only thing he has going for him is he talks pretty but most people are now sick of that also, our own president is dangerous for our country, he may be a nice guy but the poor bastard has no idea of what the hell he is doing, he believed all that slopping bullsh!t the democrat racist media layed on him about tingling legs and goofy democrats fainting when he blew his nose but now the chickens are coming home to roost, I really feel sorry for him.

If I am to understand this correctly, these are allegations from a UN inspector, who's sources were Iraqi's on the ground in the Sunni Triangle, circa 2006. Is that accurate?

Sure for some when it comes to US troops it is guilty until proven innocent, of course no one else would commit atrocities other than savage murdering US troops.

OTOH some of us give the US troops the benefit of the doubt. Innocent until proven guilty. There are isolated incidents like the woman who was raped and murdered in those cases the soldiers were convicted and rightly so.

War is no accident. There is no "Oops! I accidentally shot a cruise missile that slammed into a hospital and killed twenty civilians and three insurgents!" accidents. They are the result of a conscious use of weapons and "intelligence" that are inherently inaccurate. Same goes for training men to kill, arming them to the teeth, removing them from home and inserting them into a complete sh!thole devoid of hope, trust and comfort of any sort, and then expecting them to behave normally. When they act like animals it is no "accident" and there should be no surprise. When they act normally (which is the case more often than not) then they are truly acting heroically and surprisingly.

5.2 trillion dollars later.. and a terrific expenditure of armaments, soldiers on edge and the outcome is.. not much of a surprise here.

Shyt happens in war, and that is why war should not be taken lightly.

Remember the naked little girl running down the road after being burned by napalm, that picture haunts me every day.

There is something to be said for all of us in our collective psyche, to give the US a pass even though there were 150,000 women and children killed as collateral damage..

The Pro pregnancy party is so quick to defend the military, and they only seem to value fetuses and after that you are on your own you little baztards...

Nancy Pelosi said "she vomited" the first time she saw the photo of the Muslim Murderer in the Abba Dabba prison with ladies underwear on his head I wonder what the old Hag Dog thinks about a story like this.

What disgusting people those Anti Bush War Protesters were.

Not as quite as disgusting as the "wannabe" antiwar protestors, all the while gently washing the testicles of George W.. and bytching about the war protestors then.

Having been in the military during a time of war and having friends killed (never sent to a combat zone for the record, did have orders cancelled in 1973) I know far more about it than you sonny.

You forgot the great equalizer here, you never saw war... there is a difference. But you did stay at a Holiday Inn last night.....

Many of us had friends who died in Viet Nam, but that does not make us authorities on what they experienced.. many of us spent time with Viet Nam Veterans when they came back, interestingly none who were "incountry" never talked about it.. those who were on the coasts, complete with mama sans taking care of their quarters, bragged about it all the time.

War is hell, and never should be taken lightly...

The right always takes war lightly, consider the lies of George W. Bush with no backlash.. 5.2 trillion dollars lately.

I have a lot of respect for those who served in combat, but not much for those who speak as though they did.. but in reality did not.

I am a proud anti war protestor, war is very seldom/if ever warranted.. my views are very similar to the libertarian platform.

How would you know about what the right does or does not think, living in the union spit on war vets left?

I remember you and your friends from the 70's and how we were treated when wearing the uniform in public places like airports.

During the early 70's the students in Cambridge (MIT / Harvard) were all going nuts, servicemen who lived in the city and were home on leave were told not to wear their uniforms in public because several had been attacked by those "peace loving f-cking creeps" the dirty bastards wore flowers in their stringy hair and had tee shirts on that said "make love not war" while they were beating the sh!t out of some poor 18 year old kid simply because he was a member of the US Army.

The "peacenics" were rotten violent animals, no matter how immoral the Viet Nam War was there was no excuse to do the things that I saw those scumsucking violent bastard students do, especially to America's Servicemen.
