If people don't want this level of 'journalism' on the NFL site, the way to help that along is for people to stop being gossips. Don't click the link. Don't post about it.

If you think something is none of your business, act accordingly. Given the success of gossip magazines and TV shows throughout recent history, it's pretty clear that there are a lot of nosy people out there, and they're not all 60 year old grandmothers with nothing to do but hang out at the senior center. Drew Brees won his arbitration battle against the NFL, and that doesn't have a thread here on the main forum, but this does.

Um actually, they did, apparently because as a media outlet they consider lots of things newsworthy. Apparently some here want them censored.

"Censored"? NFL.com isn't exactly part of our nation's free press. It's a house organ of a private business, 100% owned and operated by the NFL. While it clearly has a mandate to operate as a money-making media property, it has an equal mandate to serve as a promotional outlet for the league.

That's a fine line that NFL.com tries not to show it's walking. But have you ever seen an NFL.com article assessing which side had the more legitimate grievance in the lockout, or giving a critical analysis of Roger Goodell's performance as commissioner, or comparing the entertainment value of today's game to past eras, etc. etc.?

Meh......... Sure it's petty and low-class.

But, I'm not gonna lie either, it's certainly nice to have "another" quality NFL team besides the Patriots getting bashed at every turn for crap that is untrue/exaggerated. :rocker:

Haters gonna hate and the more hate heaped on the Saints, the less hate heaped on us.

p.s. Of course this is pretty much (sorta) in jest. It's a despicable article most suitable for TMZ then NFL.com
