Sandler was interviewed just before kick off of SB XXXIX. He said, "If my Jets couldn't be here I gotta go for the Eagles." As far as I'm concerned he's an idiot and always will be. The only funny thing he ever did was Tollbooth Willy. As far as the Doug Heffernon character he is the king of Queens. The Jets use to play in Queens I believe. In one episode he proposed to Carrie at a Jets game in a Jets jacket. In another Carrie bought him the grill he wanted but it had a Patriots logo. He freaked out "THE PATRIOTS! THE PATRIOTS! It was pretty funny. Because I would do the same thing with the teams reversed.
