I heard Pacman is on the final year of his contract which only pays him something like 1.2 million for the 2008 season. The Cowboys are rumored to be offering a 5th or 6th round pick. If we offered our 4th round pick for Pacman, we would probably get him. There is a good chance the player we draft in the 4th round will not make the team. Last year we drafted Kareem Brown in the 4th round with the 127th pick. He did not last long. Pacman knows that if the commish allows him to play in 2008, he is going to have a short leash. He also knows that if he has a good 2008, with no outside trouble, he will probably score in the free agent market in 2009. If we do lose Pacman after one season and he gets a good contract, we will get a decent comp pick (probably equal to the 4th we gave up). I feel the reward vs the risk is worth rolling the dice.
