Why Eagles were suddenly a good team.

Because every team will bring their A game when playing the Pats.
Well those that can anyways.

and the humiliation of that point spread was probably the best bulletin board material the Eagles could have had. Las Vegas motivated them to rescue their pride and they went out and did it, but lost the game

There are no prizes for redeemed pride in the NFL.

1) The Eagles' offense was very simple. Feeley rarely had to look off his first read. I saw one checkdown to Westbrook and that was about it (I'm sure there were more but they weren't obvious). That enabled him to get the ball out quickly before the rush got to him.

2) The Eagles used everybody. Westbrook had 92 total yards with a long of 14. If I told you that was going to happen, you would have predicted a blowout. Credit the Eagles for throwing to (and calling plays for) 8 different receivers.

3) The Eagles defense stayed true to who they were and didn't try to change to match the Pats. The results weren't great but was probably the best they could do:

  1. Touchdown
  2. FG (got to the PHI 5)
  3. Touchdown
  4. Punt (awful field position and penalties)
  5. Missed FG (should have been a Moss TD)
  6. Downs (got to the PHI 33)
  7. Touchdown
  8. Punt (running out the clock)
  9. Kneel-down

You don't have to use much imagination to see 14-18 more points. That would be 45-49 points and we probably are having more running up the score conversations. The perception is that the Eagles D played well, but I'm not so sure.
