I've never engaged in a circular argument....but I see it going on here on this board everyday. What strikes me is the consistency in which our more liberal members engage in it.

I see them argue a point, then another and another without really getting anywhere. It's useless as far as I can see, but that doesn't stop it from happending.

It reminded me of a phone call I made to Chrysler corp Wednesday. I called their customer care dept to get the address so I could file a consumer complaint with the MA AG. I asked for their address and the woman said, "if you send it to our corp. office, it will never get to us".

So I said, "them give me your dept's address". To which she replied, "let me connect you to a customer care representative".

I said, "no, just give me your address"

And she said, "I can give you our corp. office address if you like"

ME: "But you said it will never get to you"

Chrysler: "Let me connect you to a customer care representative"

Me: No fukkn thanks a-hole...but I know YOUR personal home address!!:D

The above actually happened this past Wednesday.

    wow....

    how liberal of her.....

what is mind boggling is that at no point is there an argument, nor is any of it circular....
at no point are there any mentions of politics, nor any examples of what you call "circular argument".

Thread should read: I hate liberals, and I also hate customer service.

Reminds ME of one of my ex-gfs attempting to win an argument by saying "You talk in circles.." to which I replied "How so?" to which she had no answer.

PS- you should always elevate a customer service call. When the person askes if you'd like to speak to a manager, say "Hellz Yess!!!" when you get them, ask for THEIR manager....and so on....You'll get what you want.

I had the prejudiced notion that liberals were the ones who grew up as squares (nerds).

Now I do not know what to think but I will carefully watch this thread to learn properly.

    :rofl: ... :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

    EX-girlfriend...

Holy Diver is happily married to a japanese/italian woman, who calls me out correctly instead of using terms that can't be backed up with examples. She just says I'm 'full of $#!t.'

    gotta love Mrs. Diver.

Swearing at customer service representatives accomplishes nothing, and could be viewed as bullying...

Phone call bullying is about as low as whale shyt...

Where are the "circular" arguments you're referring to?

If it's just about not "really getting anywhere," how is that any different from the more conservative members of the board?

My wife has been calling me names for 65 years and she can still come up with new ones.

I actually wanted to see if anyone tried to engage me in a circular argument.

BTW....my CHrysler example was circular conversation...maybe not circular-argument. She kept going around and around and kept coming back to the same non-answer. It was actually much longer and stranger than I explained...I just didn't want to bore anyone.

I posted this thread on my way out the door and all I wanted to see was the responses I'd get. I'm actually too tired to carry out my original devious plan....so thank your higher power tonight!;)

Perhaps it was not all that devious, berating and swearing at women via the phone diminishes your intent.. any "bad guy" can swear at women over the phone. Nothing will be accomplished by your actions except to help that woman have a very bad day... good job, you are really a tough guy.
