Who's in charge?

He can not do everything. The sooner everyone is in place the better.

I imagine that McDaniel's and Pioli's replacements are already

within the organization. O'Brien or Mangorian will replace McDaniels

and Caserio will replace Pioli if he leaves.

The offense is already pretty much set in place. If Brady returns,

he is a defacto offensive co-ordinator who will change the play

depending on the defense. Cassel would require more help from the

coaching staff in that regard.

In the front office, the draft board is probably pretty much set up.

It will be tweaked after the combine and after the coaching staff

and scouting department attend the various pro days. I don't

think the Patriots will be very active in free agency. They have to

franchise Cassel and tender offers to their ERFAs and RFAs. They

may also try to re-sign a few of their UFAs before free agency.

It remains to be seen how successful Pioli's replacement will be at

negotiating contracts and managing the salary cap.

Alexander Haig...........nice one.:D

Re: Whose in charge?

Probably 80% of the people in this group don't even get that joke though.

I didn't know that's what Haig looked like, but when I saw the flag, the wheels started spinning.

I love erudite humor. :D

Re: Whose in charge?

If Pioli leaves, the main problems I would foresee for the organisation are that he would want to bring some of his people with him and that he would have his eye on the same players as BB but would have a much better position in the draft.

I wouldn't worry about the draft, at least this year. Chances are the Chiefs are going to be picking a LOT higher than the Pats, so the pool they'd be selecting from wouldn't even be on the Pats minds. Unless we trade for a top 5 pick, I don't see the Chiefs plans effecting our draft board that much.
