With training camp starting tomorrow, who is your pick to be this year's surprise performer? I'm going with Eric Alexander. After two years on the practice squad, I think he could end up being one of the backups at inside linebacker.

Monty Beisel, a year under the system, combined with some more muscle, and with Vrabel moving back to the more comfortable outside, should make the Pats linebacking corps a force to be reckoned with. Our front seven is top five in the league, right up there with the Giants.

I think Roach will do well and make the team as an UDFA and possibly get some time at ILB. I am not sure if Sanders can be considered a surprise after Rodney threw some light on him.

I hope Mincey comes along and plays well.

O'Callagahn. Next year when TC opens he will be the starting RT, but for this camp, I think he will make his mark and earn himself PT for the season.

7th round pick Andrews will make the team and improve the Pats return game considerably.

And 1st round pick Maroney will be used on kickoff returns.

Mark my words and don't be surprised when that happens!

Some good thoughts. Eric Alexander has put in his time, so I'd hope he'd be a candidate to turn it up a notch and surprise us. I'll just say this:

I hope, whoever it is, that he's young and plays linebacker. Because that's where this team NEEDS a pleasant surprise.

My guess: Reche Caldwell. I think he'll be better than he's been.

My guess would be Mincey or Woods, both have a lot to learn and are long shots, but Belichick seemed to be working with them a lot in the camps.

Here's a surprise-surprise. Not just in TC but the season.

TULLY- he has all the tools and smarts. It is time for him to step it up and I think he will. He will no longer be looking at Willies back for rep's.

The real surprise will be the "amazing Patriots draft of 2006"

Mark my words - and I said this as soon as day two of the draft. was completed.

This draft will go down as one of the best ever, all time NFL drafts.

    Disable Jersey

    My guess:

This is the year of special teams re-tooling -- both in coverage and as returner.

So: Vernell Brown and/or Willie Andrews.

I'de like Gostkowski to have a strong camp,
Even better if he has strong leg.
Consistancy from 45 yards, and deep KO's would be appreciated.

Wright is going to move from Nose to End and be Warrens back up over Hill.

I know, not very bold prediction.

How about Bam Childress? With the recieving corps being light and Deion holding out, maybe Bam gets more action and runs with the opportunity.

I totally disagree. I say Claridge gets cut before camp even starts. ;)
