Patriots (2-0) at Bills (2-0) 1:00PM ET
kinda obvious. The winner of this game will either be in sole possession of first in the AFCE or have the second tiebreaker over the Jets.
Jets (2-0) at Raiders (1-1) 4:05PM ET
For the second week in a row the Raiders play a hated division rival. For the second week in a row it is in the Pats interest to root for the Raiders, 2nd round pick be damned.
Dolphins (0-2) at Browns (1-1) 1:00PM ET
Rounding out the root against division rivals. Some may be writing the fish off, with the 0-2 start. But teams have started out 0-2 and not only won the division but the SB as well.
Texans (2-0) at Saints (1-1) 1:00PM ET
Two ways to look at this. One way, at 2-0 the Texans are a risk to NE for home-field, byes, or a wildcard spot, the Saints ain't, so go Saints. On the other hand NE owns the Saints first round pick, so go Texans. I am going with the latter. But the former is just as logical of an approach.
Chiefs (0-2) at Chargers (1-1) 4:05PM ET
Another one where there are two ways to look at it. Chargers are more of a risk to NE for playoff seeding than the Chiefs. But just barely, with NE being 1.5 games up on the SD. Someone needs to win the AFCW, my preference is anyone but Oakland, Chargers have a better shot at it than the Chiefs.
Broncos (1-1) at Titans (1-1) 1:00PM ET
Same reason as rooting for Chargers. Someone needs to win the AFCW, anyone but Oakland.
Giants (1-1) at Eagles (1-1) 1:00PM ET
NE has the Eagles 7th round pick. Yeah, big whoopie not the same as the deal with the Saints or Oakland. But it is the only rational reason to pick one team over the other. Of course if you hate the Giants root for the Eagles.
Jaguars (1-1) at Panthers (0-2) 1:00PM ET
Panthers are in the same division as the Saints -- anybody but the Saints. And Jax is in the AFC thus a threat to NE for the playoffs, Panthers are not.
Steelers (1-1) at Colts (0-2) 8:20PM ET
Steelers are more of a threat for playoff seedings.
49ers (1-1) at Bengals (1-1) 1:00PM ET
Absent anything better root for the NFC over the AFC.
Ravens (1-1) at Rams (0-2) 4:05PM ET
ditto
Falcons (1-1) at Buccaneers (1-1) 4:15PM ET
Doesn't really matter. I don't care if the Bucs or Falcons win the NFCS as long as it ain't the Saints. Teams are tied. Game does impact NE, but the rooting interest is unclear.
Cardinals (1-1) at Seahawks (0-2)4:15PM ET
This is scraping the bottom of the barrel for a reason, but the Bills have one of the Seahawks picks (not sure which round) The more that Sea wins, the less valuable it is to our rival.
The following games have no impact on the NEP:
Lions (2-0) at Vikings (0-2) 1:00PM ET
Packers (2-0) at Bears (1-1) 4:15PM ET
Redskins (2-0) at Cowboys (1-1) MNF 8:30PM ET
