I don't understand the people that are so afraid of the Chargers that they're willing to sacrifice the first round pick. If the Patriots can't beat the Chargers at home in January they're not going to win the Superbowl anyway, nor would they deserve to. It is more important that the Chargers and every other possible team team finish ahead of Oakland.

Same goes for the people that are afraid of the Colts.

Nice Buffalo win now the Bengals are our enemy for the 33rd ...

They have the Browns, chargers and Ravens left so they may stay at 2 wins.

Carolina has Arizona, Pittsburgh and Atlanta left ... so they both can possibly stay right where they are in draft position.

If Carolina beats Zona next week and end up w the same record as the Bengals - who gets the first pick?

Not happening ... Panthers are gunning for the #1 pick.

Well if the could not defeat team XXX @ home in January they will obviously not win the SB as they have just lost a playoff game and are officially out. But there are teams which are easier to beat and some are harder.

Normally the ones which are harder to beat, will be in the playoffs no matter what (like PIT and BAL). But in this blessed occasion, we have the chance of seeing a few of them take a dive before the whole things even start.

OTOH who say we want to sacrifice out pick? Its just mostly irrelevant if we pick 15th or 20th, or not relevant enough to root for scenarios which give us a 2% better chance of winning the Big thing.

the bottom line is, as a pats fan, you root against the raiders every week. pick or no pick. on rare occassions you root for a raider win. only when it's beneficial to the pats. the pick this year is just the cherry on the topping on the desert that is the playoffs.
