YouTube - WBZ, Ch. 4, Boston - Short News Aircheck, from 1978!
I do. His daughter attended my high school. It was always a big deal when he was at the school. Seem to recall, always in a tan leisure-type suit.
I remember Bruce Schwegler was often on air baked out of his mind...he'd giggle and look down for no reason sometimes...it was a riot!
I remember Lowel Thomas
"Good evening, everybody."
What a life he had...!
I was hoping Zip Rzeppa would pop in to do the sports, but then I remembered he came later and worked for 7news.
Did you guys know that to this day Schowegller still gets a note from Dick Albert every February 5 that says 'Neener, neener, neener!'?
I understand Dicky called the Blizzard of 78 (which started that day) and Bruce missed by a mile.
Pretty good considering Dicky wasn't even a New England meteorologist yet.
Even a silly thread like this one you just have to act like a dick huh?
Any old timers remember Arch McDonald & Weatherman Don Kent.
Don Kent lived on Regatta road in Weymouth. He use to pump in sea water
into his swimming pool from wessagusset beach.
He was also "Green" back in the 70's.
He use to have a solar business, on RT 3A in Weymouth.
I am not a stalker.... just a neighbor.
Kent and Jack Chase did news and weather at 6:45 am, followed by Frank Blair,Hugh Downs and Barbara Walters on the Today Show.......
We all grew up on it.............old-timer?? That hurts.......
I remember Ben Pepper.
Who the hell wants salt water in their pool? :stars2:
I watched David Hartman on Good Morning America. Those are the days when hosts didn't have to look good. And you might see this commercial. Or This one.
That's the best. Good for you and works better then chlorine. What would you rather swim in, salt (% less then ocean) or chlorine?
I grew up with a pool in my backyard. The chlorine never bothered me but, the taste of salt water still does.
Separate names with a comma.
