Would it be a bad policy in practice? Probably.

But it could be ok, and it could result in everybody contributing something -- don't we hear a lot of complaints about how many people don't pay any income tax? (I know I'd prefer that everybody pay something.)

there's no way to form a view of this thought, because that's all it is. Well, I should say there's no intelligent way to form a view of this.

But no surprise, you've started a thread based on nothing -- literally, nothing.

It's only a thought. There I agree. I hope it stays a thought, and is never, ever implemented.

1.2 million people being dropped from the work force is pretty dour in my world, not sure about your world.

Must have everything to do with liberal economic policies and over-taxation, right? Not the FACT that we can no longer meet global demand in any affordable method (as confirmed by that bastion of liberal sensibilities, the Pentagon)

What's it like going through life utterly ignoring known science, geology and known economic data, and instead providing a nice partisan story-line to explain it all away for yourself? I mean, why actually THINK when you can just gobble up and regurgitate everything fed to you from the Weekly Standard?

It will get worse. And while the naive left wants to raise taxes a few pennies, your team prefers instead to "fix it all" by crushing demand with carpet bombs, pepper spray and batons.

Bad news, PF. Both Gallup and Rasmussen have consumer confidence pegged at the highest levels in over a year: Polls Show Highest Confidence In Economic Recovery In A Year | TPM Livewire

Incidentally (or not), Obama now holds double digit leads over both Romney and Santorum.

Oh, and did I mention that Rick Santorum, a third or fourth tier candidate, is now leading the GOP race?

Wonder how long this will last???.. first there was Bachman, then Perry, then Cain, then Gingrich, then Romney and now Foamy Aftermath.. by the time they reach the convention they will limp in a bloody pulp.
