Just hours before the Senate is about to pass a bill giving amnesty to spying telecoms and legalizing the government's warrantless wiretapping program, the White House finally came clean and admitted what everyone already knows: the phone companies helped the government datamine your phone records and wiretap Americans.

Israel owns all of the major telephone lines in Amerika, and has been doing this for at least 20 years.

Nothing new here... nothing new to see.

Nothing is shocking to me anymore.

    Nothing...

And no, I never said anything bad about Israel, or it's people.

    Just stating a fact.

They admitted to doing this, and there is evidence to back me up.

    Plenty of it.

Somewhat reprehensible that Hillary didn't make the effort to vote on this one. Just as bad as McCain skipping the economic stimulus vote a few weeks back.

You're not gonna win votes by skirting your responsibilities as a lawmaker.

and if that weren't enough, there's this:

Domestic Access to Spy Imagery Expands

By EILEEN SULLIVAN – 3 hours ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — A plan to use U.S. spy satellites for domestic security and law-enforcement missions is moving forward after being delayed for months because of privacy and civil liberties concerns.

The charter and legal framework for an office within the Homeland Security Department that would use overhead and mapping imagery from existing satellites is in the final stage of completion, according to a department official who requested anonymity because the official was not authorized to speak publicly about it.

The new plan explicitly states that existing laws which prevent the government from spying on citizens would remain in effect, the official said. Under no circumstances, for instance, would the program be used to intercept verbal and written conversations.

    No, of course not...

And the sheepification of the Empire continues. What a dark, depressing time we are witnessing in America today....

    Seig Heil, Boy King!

McCain did vote for the stimulus plan. He was not there for the debate on the measure but when the time came for the vote to be taken he was present. 3 Senators did not vote, Clinton, Nelson-NEB, and Obama.

I take it you won't vote for any of those skirted thier responsibilities?

I stand corrected then. I hadn't heard that, I just remember a big flap about him not showing on CNN.
