I ask this because clearly Ridley is no fluke or system designed RB. His cuts, speed, reading of blocks and matchups and finding holes plus his yards after first block are pretty spectacular most of the times.

So if i was to list you all of the RB1's in the league which would you take over him?

Go through this list and total up the yes votes and post it, if you come up with a low-mid range number then i'd say that's impressive for a guy in his first full starting season and didn't even get picked in the draft ahead of the other RB in the depth chart (Vereen)

    Ryan Williams
    Michael Turner
    Ray Rice
    Fred Jackson
    Jonathan Stewart
    Matt Forte
    Law Firm
    Trent Richardson
    DeMarco Murray
    Willis McGahee
    Mikel Leshoure
    Cedric Benson
    Arian Foster
    Donald Brown
    MJD
    Jamaal Charles
    Reggie Bush
    AP
    Darren Sproles
    Ahmad Bradshaw
    Shonn Greene
    Darren McFadden
    LeSean Mccoy
    Rashard Mendenhall
    Ryan Matthews
    Marshawn Lynch
    Frank Gore
    Steven Jackson
    Doug Martin
    Chris Johnson
    Alfred Morris

Adrian Peterson and Ray Rice definately over Ridley

McCoy and Gore on an even level with Ridley

Depends on which Chris Johnson shows up,the old CJ is right on top with Peterson and Rice

    Cedric Benson?? Donald Brown??

Ridley is no worse than 6th at his current level of play

Ridley is a bonafide pro bowler right now

So you'd only take Ridley over every other RB1 apart from those 2?

I'm a homer. I'll stick with Stevan. He is young and has upside potential. He was behind BJGE last season and was injured also. He may surprise alot of people once he gets totally comfortable with this offense. :rocker:

Yes,Ridley is equal to a few below him,but top 6 for sure

The guy is so elusive that he makes the OLs run blocking better than they really are

It's a gift from god that only few RBs have where they make holes that aren't really there by simply maneuvering their way through, almost by sheer determination.

Ridley may be the best Patriots back ever by the time he retires,I expect great things if he stays healthy.

...and I rarely praise anyone this early in their career.

    A healthy AP
    Ray Rice

    That's about it...

    Maybe Jamaal Charles as well
But I get really good vibes from Ridley. He's got a good running style and always seems to find a hole. Even if there isn't one. He'll create it. I think on one of his TD runs this week he ran straight into an engaged blocker and sent both guys tumbling into the endzone before he scored. Me likey.

taking into account many factors such as Age, Contract, Current production and injuries I would take. MJD, Jonathan stewart (I would have williams as their RB1 and would have him on this list), Maybe bradshaw and would consider Richardson or Martin if it was a straight trade but would have used draft chips on either.

If none of those are factors I have him somewhere around 15-20.

    #51 Jersey

    Ray Rice
    Fred Jackson
    Matt Forte
    Trent Richardson

    Arian Foster
    Maurice Jones-Drew
    Jamaal Charles

    Reggie Bush
    Adrian Peterson
    Darren McFadden
    LeSean McCoy
    Ryan Matthews
    Marshawn Lynch
    Chris Johnson

The bolded players are the backs I would start with 99% confidence ahead of Ridley. The others, I would have to consider more closely.

There's no way I don't start Peterson or Rice as 1A to 1AA ahead of everyone in the NFL.

Foster is a stud but he shares carries with Tate,Ridley is practically a 1 man gang at RB unless Boldin is for real

It depends on the time frame.

One game that I absolutely need to win, or to have going forward with salary considered? if it's the 2nd option then that eliminates most of the competition.

I read the title and immediately the two that came to my mind were Rice and Peterson, those are the only two that I would say are head and shoulders above him. Ridley is equal too or at least close enough to the rest that it wouldn't make me switch. I would take Bolden over him though :bricks:

If we're talking about strictly this season these are the guys I'd take. Ridley's got a ton of potential and could be better than alot of these but I'd go with the proven guys. If we're talking about if we're building a team which RBs I'd rather invest in for this season AND future years I'd cross Gore, Lynch, Jackson, Turner, MJD off that list. It's been 4 games and there's alot to be excited about, but let's not get ahead of ourselves.

Ridley is fine. Most of those other guys come with a price tag that might not work for this team. Skill wise Ridley hasn't proven much on a consistent basis but so far so good.

Probably Ben Tate. Still under a rookies contract and could start for most teams.
I think. Bradshaw and Sproles would be nice replacements for Faulk if they were running that type of offense.

I still can't believe we traded that 1st to NO for Ingram... boy the pats FO must be livid with themselves for letting him get by and having to settle for Vereen and Ridley.

In all seriousness Ridley has been great for us. I would say that every back i have Highlighted i would say is equal or exceeds Ridley IMO of course. Doesn't mean i don't like Ridley, just that i can also appreciate other backs.

Ones i was 50/50 with were Gore and Richardson but i still think both are very good backs.

There is nothing to worry about. What we are seeing from Ridley is an illusion. A poster on JI proclaimed on draft day that Ridley was a 5th rounder that BB reached for in the 3rd round.

Are you gonna believe them or your lying eyes?

You think McCoy is on an even level? Um. Wow.

    I'd take:
    Spiller
    Trent Richardson
    Ray Rice
    probably Darren McFadden
    Jamal Charles
    MJD
    Arian Foster
    Matt Forte
    Adrian Peterson
    Lesean McCoy

I'd have to think about Ryan Matthews and Frank Gore.

You totally missed my point. It is like Jets Insider in that fans are drastically overrating the player because he is on our team.

Ridley has 161 career carries, and less than 800 rushing yards, plus 8 NFL receptions, and people are saying he is better than MJD, Gore, Foster, Steven Jackson, McFadden, McCoy, Forte, Charles, Fred Jackson, Spiller (who isnt even on the list) Stewart and DeAngelo Williams, Chris Johnson, Reggie Bush, just to mane a few.

This is such a homer thread. Right this moment, Ridley is barely top 10 if even that.

How can you have probably in front of McFadden? How can you think about Gore?
There are others that belong on this list too.
Perhaps Ridley can pass a lot of them, because he looks good so far, but this thread is getting way too carried away.

I'm hoping Ridley turns into Curtis Martin for us.

But its only been 4 games. Plenty of other players -- including Maroney and some of our current defensive players showed flashes of greatness early on and then reverted to the mean.
