Which QB is under the most pressure this year?

How could anyone argue this is a close race?

Its Eli Manning by a mile and a half for many reasons including...

He was a high draft choice and spit on the Chargers who drafted him to go to the lowly Giants
(boy was that a stupid decision now)

The Giants were expected to become a powerhouse almost overnight once Eli got on board and with his outstanding Collegiate resume all Giants fans were sure of it

The family name MANNING - Father Archie was pretty good QB on a pathetic Saints team and of course QB Peyton Manning will arguably go down as best of all time when he retires,Especially is he wins another SB or two.

Its up to Eli to bring the Giants back to respectability and a Quarterback is usually the link between bad teams and elite teams, its also crucial for Eli to have a great year and take the Giants to the playoffs and save Tom Coughlin's job

If the question of this post was instead a race ,Eli would be ahead by 1 1/2 miles at the wire.

Under the most pressure?

I was going to say David Carr, but then I realized he wasn't behind that Houston OL anymore, so...

;)

You're right. Being the choice over a #1 pick (Carr), the de-facto result of another #1 choice (Bush/Young), in a city that was stripped of a franchise deep in the heart of a state that defines itself by football carries no pressure.
Particularly when a valuable draft pick and a huge contract was parlayed for the favor of merely inhabiting the roster spot until another warm body can occupy it. Oh, and lastly being coveted as a commodity despite any real proof prior and then being thrust into a situation where he has to prove himself as a savior surely wouldn't be called a pressure situation for a young man new to any job.

If Schaub is lucky, he will parlay his opportunity for a couple years to finalize his financial security. If he is good, he will avoid being another in a long line of scapegoats in the eyes of the average Houston fan.

Uh, no. Now, if he were following a guy like Brady or Manning, then sure. If his team were expected to go some where, maybe. If he was an A-hole who tooted his own horn, sure. The pressure is on the guys in that org that made the stupid choices to begin with.

Grossman tops the list. TWENTY ot TWENTY TWO starters back from a SB squad. Coming off a horrible performance in the biggest game of his career. A 10 year veteran with lots of starting experience (in QB towns -Denver, Miami) salvating for a chance to play. Guys like Delhomme, Manning, and Romo also have some pressure, as each is on a contending team, coming off disappointing seasons/playoff exits. NYG has injury problems, not sure how hard you can be on Manning based on those. Romo is in a city that expects Championships, and he has given them hope, and he has arguably a top 5 receiver in his arsenal (along with a resurgent Glenn). Certainly they expect big things in Big D. Jake was great in Carolina's SB run, but blew it big time last year, he's on the hot seat as well.

Pfttt...best answer yet...Too bad, too. Great question, originally.

People already accept the fact the Grossman is "bad". Particularly in Chicago. Take a long weekend and find out for yourself. Like fans, they drink and delude themselves that he is capable enough to not shoot the rest of the team in the foot. He is Favre the III; similar style and gumption, but without the genius that built the family fortune. He has a decent college pedigree and a modicum of pro success. Also, he is the least of evils in CHI (at QB), in a town that also annually forgives the Cubs. Think about that.

Grossman is lamented, and regretted, but he is the QB until otherwise replaced. He lacks the pressure David Garrard/Gerrard/etc. has. Hell, Losman has more new-found pressure.
