This is an anonymous poll. Hopefully those who respond will be mostly those who read and/or post in the political forum.

I became a Patsfan in 1982 when I moved to Boston. Before that I was a Vikings fan, having lived in Minnesota in era of Fran Tarkenton (who was the Jim Kelly of his era) with all his Superbowl losses. Prior to 18, I was (perish the thought) a Jets fan. But, I have to admit the 2001 season really addicted me to football and especially the Pats.

When the Patriots lose, I'm depressed.

very big fan since the days of Jim Nance....although I had to root for other teams that won sometimes (as long as they weren't playing the Pats).

I loved the LA Rams when Roman Gabriel and Deacon Jones played for them.

Another meaningless poll. Still interested in how many trolls here aren't actually from New England.

Why not ask the question in a meaningless poll?

I have been a Patriots fan since 1993. I remember the first ever game I actually watched fully. I was at Stowe, Vermont to ski for 5 days. I was 8 years old and my father brought me to the bar so he can toss back a few and all i could do is drink soda and watch the tv and the Patriots game was on. It was Pats vs Browns and the Patriots won. That was the day I became a Patriots fan and have been following them ever since!! I am a die hard Patriots fan and hopefully my son will be as well(if he turns into a jets fan, I am disowning him :p)!! GO PATRIOTS!!

My father took me to the first Pats exhibition when I was 7.

I had season tickets when Schaffer Stadium opened, even voted for J Smith at the super foot contest at the harness track.

I was on the Season ticket waiting list ever since they looked at Hartford(I think they won 5 games that year). I live three hours away from the stadium and that would have cut down the travel in half. When they decided to stay in Foxboro I said, "what the heck" I finally got my season tix and this is the 3rd yr. with them. :p

Every time someone talks about their first game I regain memory of my skinny azz freezing on the aluminum bench at my first game at that stadium when I was 11. :p:p:p We brought nothing, the smart people had those Patriots padded carry seats and blankets with them.

My father wouldn't bring me to games when I was a kid -- said there were too many drunks, too many fights. I think it was just an excuse. (We managed to go to Fenway and the Garden plenty, and people occasionally drink (drank) there...) :)

I've now been to more road games than home -- Super Bowls, Indy, Meadowlands, SD, etc.

I grew up in NH and am the son of a huge Pats fan. I remember watching the 85 SB with my dad... he was so disappointed. We watched for years as the Pats bumbled through the early 90s until the Kraft/Bledsoe days, followed by the BB/Brady dynasty. But man, we watched some stinkers together. So, to me, football will always have that heartfelt connection to my dad, whom I love dearly.

How could I be anything but a huge Pats fan otherwise!

I was a little kid when I went with my dad, uncle and grandfather to see the Pats in 1970 on December 13th. They were 2-12 and got killed by Page and the Purple People Eaters, 35-14. It was cold but I didn't care cuz I was 7.

I too remember going to the beer can when it first opened (with my dad), the bathrooms weren't done yet. I dont remember much else about the game except the aluminum bleachers, the crowd noise, and how cool it was that I was there with my dad.

    Been a Pats fan since.

My father was one of the first to buy season tickets to the Boston Breakers, but then they moved away. He's always loved the NFL and Patriots, but just couldn't bring his kids into that environment back then. I still wonder if I'd be sittin' pretty today with 100 level season tickets if it had been Kraft's dad who bought the team instead of Kraft.

Anyway all my friends think of me as a huge fan, but around here I got nothing.
