Suppose it isn't as much fun as spending billions to help rationalize abortion.

If this breakthrough had happened with ESC's there would be cover stories all over the MSM, but killing babies is so....chic.

Not really when you stop and think of what time zone the Patriots are located in and realize that most visitors here have jobs that generally require sleeping when this was first posted.

More on topic: I'm glad that science has (probably) found a way to save lives that doesn't offend your invisible man in the sky. Still I have to wonder why y'all were so sure that old grumpy guy in the clouds was so against Embryonic stem cell research? I thought he 'helped' those who helped themselves? Not to mention the old chestnut about how he moves in mysterious ways? Or was that Bono from U2? I can never keep my cults of personality straight. Anyway its good that some little kid stuck in a wheel chair for life now has hope. Lets just hope this is for real and that the delay imposed by the big guy didn't ruin too many lives.

Blaming God for your mistakes is self-defeating, you know. But you can pray to MTV for your answers, if you like. Don't blame God for what happens to you.

Don't bother. Jeeziz people and Moonies don't care what happens to sick people, as long as their prescious embryos are allowed to remain frozen or thrown in the dumpster. They'd rather invoke their belief in the Invisible Man or the words of their self-annointed profits...er...I mean "prophets" to justify delays inmedical science and continued suffering. Hell, if parents of sick kids think ESCR is acceptable, then that's probably why their kids were born with diseases. You know - "sins of the father resting on his children" and other magical fairy tales.

Meanwhile, such holy people could care less when our military bombs the hell out of civilian targets, killing living children for the sake of "national security" or stable oil prices.

Have a nice day in church with the other hippocrits, ostriches.

Where the fu(k was your "god" when this happened?

The Fog doesn't realize he's so far from his ex-home. It doesn't matter what time it is. We're supposed to hear God talking to us in our sleep like he does. Then we're supposed to get up at 2 am and respond ti it via internet. God's logged in right now, but he doesn't need a computer.

There have been numerous articles like this, and I'm all for an alternative to stem cell research that doesn't risk the wrath of those who favor killing the born over the unborn. After all, the goal of stem cell research is to save and improve lives, and for those who support stem cell research, the issue has everything to do with medical science and nothing to do with whether or not to deny women authority over their own bodies.

Don't waste your fingertips typing to the religious. They think we want to kill babies.

Proponents of stem cell research always seem to say that US policy has inhibited progress. Not true, the field is still in its infancy. There is so much flawed research out there you would be wise to take any breakthrough you read about with a grain of salt. Plus there is no ban here on research, just federal funding to create new cell lines. Really not the huge deal it is made out to be.

As for that family that went to China, I obviously hope for the best for them, but that was a stupid decision. There is no way the procedure has been sufficiently tested, and there is a high risk of complications. What good is it if this girl drops dead from retinal cancer 2 years down the road? A bad decision by her parents I'm afraid.
