When should the pats start resting starters?

I want to see them go full out, rest the guys who are a bit banged up though. But if you mean have Hoyer play full games then no not the way to go. It worked for the saints but, in recent years teams that go into the playoffs on a roll have done better.

He left today's game with a confirmed concussion. He has a current season history in this area of injury. I'm not sure the league will allow him to play next week. Also, the games following next week's for the Packers are far more important to them than a non-conference game like next week's against NE. I'll be surprised if he plays.

Do not take that to the bank. 2nd concussion this year. The decision won't be his, or even his coaches. This one will be made by doctors, and they ain't playing when it comes to head injuries. Either way. I don't care. I think we spank them either way.

I don't think you rest starters. I do think you manage some things:

1) Snap count for players that may be wearing down
2) Opportunities for players that could use some reps (Butler, Fletcher, Page, Chevis, Sergio, Deaderick, Edelperson, etc.)
3) Days/games off for anyone nursing an injury

I think they have been doing a good job with these areas (except with McCourty, who may get some well-deserved downtime now) all along. Apart from these, keep everyone sharp and on schedule.
