McCourty has looked flat so far in his sophomore season, and Bodden has been... fine. Dowling showed potential, but not if he's fragile.

Arrington has been reliable, opportunistic, versatile rushing the passer, great tackling in the open field and seems to be the only guy in the secondary who has ball skills. I dont think Kyle is playing over his head, I think this is what he is... a tremendous find and a pretty reliable and productive player in a secondary that needs more of that.

Yeah I have no idea what's happened, but I'm actually really confident in Kyle out there right now. Say what you want about McCourty being mostly matched up against better receivers, Arrington is still definitely playing better.

He's come up huge for us. I expect Bodden to improve over the 2nd half after missing a year, but he's been fine.

    McCourty I'm worried about

McCourty is a serious concern. Hopefully after the bye week he can recuperate....but he looks lost on many plays and apparently has Gary Guyton tackle disorder now..

He's been good with interceptions but as far as coverage I wouldn't put him ahead of Bodden just yet. You can't really compare him with McCourty since McCourty's been matched up with the no1 receiver all the time..

I was thinking the same exact thing during the game. I'm always routing for the underdog, so I'm a fan of Arrington. He seems like a very humble Guy.

I wouldn't call Lauraunt Robinson Dallas' best WR. McCourty missed a tackle on him on the sideline that cost the Pats another 20 or so yards.

On McCourty's PI that he was lucky to have negated he was also covering Robinson.

Alright I correct myself. He's been lining up with the no1 receiver "almost" all the time. Maybe I didn't watch correctly but I thought today he lined up on Bryant on most of the plays.

    Arringtons doing well.

McCourty...I wonder if it's a coaching issue. He's getting Wilhite and Butler disease wherein his back is increasingly turned away from the ball. One has to wonder.

Arrington is on his way to becoming the player we hoped to develop Ellis Hobbs into. His progression has been a nice surprise. Wasn't much of a fan of his last year, and that's probably because I had become pessimistic with how poorly we had been developing corners in recent years til last season. Hopefully he can keep it up.

I still consider McCourty our best CB. He has struggled some this year but it's not totally unexpected.

I don't pay much attention to it, but from what I've read, the Pats usually line up their CB's on the same side most the game and they don't have them Shadow #1 WR's.

McCourty might be running into that 'sophmore slump' thing. But he's a really talented guy, I have faith that he will bounce back. But think about this, with Bodden playing solid, with Arrington improving every week, and with Dowling due to come back from injury, the Pats will be able to put out 3-4 solid CBs each week. AND the defense seems to start to be gelling now. I mean did you see Carter, Spikes, and Haynesworth out there givien the Cowboys OL all it could handle? Overall I see a lot of reason to be optimistic for the Pats defense! This was their best all-around effort yet.

Once they tighten up on the tackling, this could become a VERY TOUGH unit. A unit that the offense can actually count on to keep them in close games. And thats what we really need to make some noise in the postseason.

I still want the Pats to try out Kyle Arrington at FS. He has good straight line speed.

If McCourty has one more missed tackle, I'm going to puke!

Yeah Arrington was porgressing all last year and is still trending up. McCourty is flat or trending slightly down. Ball awareness seems lacking could be coaching but I hope not. Does seem to be a common issue with many of our guys.
