I guess Webster would take Wheatley's spot on the active roster, and then Hobbs / O'Neal will start, which it was it was for awhile anyway. But Wheatley was coming along pretty well.

Because he was cut in TC, hasn't been picked up since until our ROOKIE got hurt. He does nothing for me either.

The same group we played most of the Indy game with. Hobbs, O'Neal, Wilhite. And now Webster. The Bills have one real WR and JAGs, we can get through this game with this group.

That's pretty much where they are right now, sadly. One more injury and their going to start picking people out of the crowd.

the reality is the secondary is barely average at best, it has 2 be the #1 priority this offseason.

This would not be a huge issue if we could pressure the QB. The Giants had a horrid secondary last year, and they beat us with pressure. To bad we can't pressure the qb

I'd hate to throw it out there for fear of ridicule, but maybe we bring back Fernando Bryant? He already has working knowledge of the system, won't command alot of money, and hopefully wouldn't Oley any more tackles like he did in the PS.

Or they could work out some STH's before the game.

The Giants had talented young players in the secondary. They weren't experienced yet, but Corey Webster and Aaron Ross have been playing very well this year. They're starting.

I think this team CAN pressure the quarterback--they were good at that last year, and the personnel is the same. Not sure what's been going on this year.

Maybe. We've got a lot of young players in this secondary. I think we need to draft a pass rusher (OLB) with our #1 pick if one worthy of that is available, and then with our #2, draft another corner. We should be ok at safety with Meriweather turning into a beast and Sanders fairly reliable. Wheatley looks like he could be another Ellis Hobbs type, but more aggressive. That's not a bad thing at all.

It's not a good group, hopefully we'll get Wheatley back, but with the demise of the Colts for now there just aren't a lot of huge passing games out there. The best team in the AFC can't throw at all.

Well as bad and bizarre as the injuries have been this year, some other teams have had even worse luck.

Here's a thought, which may well be retarded:

Assuming Hobbs and O'Neil can stay on the field, and Meri can get beasty, can't we run a lot with our "stealth depth" and get Brandon in as a Hybrid Safety/3rd CB?

Both Ventrone and Slater are educated at safety and RayVen©®™ is reportedly a beast in the rough. He could possibly cover the slot.

If I'm way off, educate me. I learn more from that than ridicule.

Sad to say, you're damn right. If this team can get to Edwards we'll beat them down. If not, he'll have a good day against us. It's so annoying listening to people ***** about this secondary when they're running like chickens with their heads cut off for 5 seconds. I'm so sick of saying this, but this team just simply cannot get to the quarterback. Until that changes, they'll continue to struggle. If they can actually get to him, suddenly our young secondary will be one of the better units in the league.

unfortunately, it's not just their wr's we have to be aware of. they only got 30 yards rushing but still managed to get 289 yards passing against the jets, who have better cb's than we do. they've got playmakers at RB who can catch passes and get plenty of yac, and we have to watch out for their te's, although their te's seem pretty inconsistent this year.

i'm pretty worried, but i think we'll be able to control the clock and keep their offense off the field enough to win the game.

Almost 200 yards of their passing was to TE/RB. They only had about 100 to WR. Their TE/RB may make some plays against us but it won't play to our weakness at CB. Any team whose strength is the power game we have a decent shot at stopping.

You get a pass on the retarded thingy being from like, Canader.

We may actually see such lineups as the season progresses. Mrs B would, well I can't actually say here on this Forum, if her boy Ventrone were to be out there.
