This isn't a luxury for the Eagles. They play Dallas next week at 1 pm on Sunday. The Boys played yesterday so they'll now have 3 extra days of rest on the Eagles.

    Saturday
    Sunday
    Monday
    Tuesday

This has to be the first time in NFL history that a game week has had games on 5 different days.

I'm not sure if yesterday's game counts as an actual NFL game. But if it does, then yeah, that has to be a record.

Since they're denying us the opportunity to watch football in the snow, I say that in its place they should reair TEN@NE. :D

Football is now being impacted by the elements, and we're not talking lightning or disasters. Football is now being called on account of snow.

I really, really don't like this Ommissioner.

    I wouldn't mind re-watching Pats 45 - Jets 3.

Not that it had anything to do with the snow. But really, who needs a good excuse to re-watch that? :singing:

Why didn't they delay the Patriots-Chicago game and put it in a dome?

    1) $$$ It would compete with the ESPN game and cost the league money since they wouldn't have an exclusive..
    2) The storm is supposed to continue well into tomorrow and wouldn't be cleaned up...You've obviously not seen what passes for snow removal in the city of Philadelphia

That didn't stop them last week. Weird.

As for the snow not being cleaned up by then, that makes more sense.

So what you are saying is, if only a couple of people were to die getting to or from the game, that would be OK with you? Do the words "state of emergency" mean anything to you?

NBC's contract is for a national game. That Giants/Vikings game was just for locals (and DirecTV'ers).

    I agree.......

Snow emergency or not.....the game should be played. Sorry, it's pro football and the game goes on. It sets up 4 day s rest going onto next weekends game, which really is crazy.

Goodell is out of control..........where do you draw the line now? Heavy rain which might mean flooding conditions for people driving. Or shapp we postpone it when temperatures rise above 100 degrees because there is a heat emergency with warnings?

Game should be on - period and goodell sucks.

I think it's a scam!!!! They are probably just doing it because Vick won't be able to run around in the snow!

Seriously though, why would they postpone the game? Makes no sense whatsoever to me!

They cited public safety as the concern. I don't blame the league for playing it safe. Why would you want to risk fans getting hurt or even dying getting to and fro from the game?

Can we stop the dying fans drama?? This is football and its always been played in bad weather. I don't recall any game where "fans died" trying to get to or from it.

Sack up and play the game.

I'm really getting confused. They cancelled the game because of snow.............yet, they scheduled a SuperBowl in NY?
