If climate change is so real and so undeniable, then why do so many people have to lie about statistics involving it?

Times Atlas Apologizes For Global-Warming Error | Fox News

Publishers of the Times Comprehensive Atlas of the World scrambled Tuesday to correct a controversial statement that Greenland had lost 15 percent of its permanent ice cover over the last 12 years -- an assertion scientists labeled "incorrect and misleading."

Poul Christoffersen, a glaciologist at the Scott Polar Research Institute at the University of Cambridge, said the 15 percent decrease in permanent ice cited "is both incorrect and misleading." He believes the actual number is closer to 0.1 percent.

Few (credible and knowledgeable) people deny that climate change is occurring. The question is what is causing it.

From your own link: "...'Climate change is real, and Greenland ice cover is shrinking. But the claims here are simply not backed up by science; this pig can't fly'..."

Well if it's a mistake then liberals must really be a bunch of complete morons to be off by so much. It's not like they said 15% and the real number was 14%. This would be like someone saying you owe them $1,500 when you really only owed them $10. How could someone make a mistake so large and still be intelligent enough to remember how to breathe?

Climate has been changing for the past 4 billion years. There is no evidence that humans are driving that change. Just some computer models that consistently miss in their predictions.

Did you think your post was somehow refuting mine?

A publisher makes a mistake in a press release, and a day later states, ""This was done without consulting the scientific community and was incorrect. We apologize for this and will seek the advice of scientists on any future public statements." This is news? Fox, which has now been proven to be the most corrupt news organization in the world, has certainly done far worse things than make something like this news, but at least this is pretty laughable.

No just clarifying the difference between climate change and the ruse that CO2 is driving climate change an assertion for which there is empirical observational proof.

So just repeating what I had already said, as a "response."

    Good contribution!

(Maybe you can teach wolfie the difference b/t the 2 things, though)

You mean like your heroes were "off" on pretty much every aspect of their administration for 8 years? Should we review?

They called a lot of things "mistakes" that keep costs in the trillions to this very day.

Again, the difference between people like me and drones like you? At least we can admit that both sides are utterly corrupt. Your team insists only the "other" side is to blame for everything. To the ends of the Earth, no matter how much evidence shows how flawed the "privatize everything" model ultimately is.

It's funny for a while, but then it starts getting kinda sad, and ultimately, kinda boring.

Ah well. Back to your regularly scheduled partisan brain-washing.

There is ample evidence, but you believe in the computer models by a small group of scientists who do not believe in MMGW.

Actually in this case it was a lie see this article from the UK:

Times Atlas is 'wrong on Greenland climate change' | Environment | The Guardian

Problem is the people that provide the data (NSDIC) said that it was (in essence) misused.

So the Times Atlas people led with the claim that they were explicitly showing the effects of climate change, the area involved BTW was larger than the UK and Ireland combined.

The amount of melt was not 15% but rather .1% of the ice in Greenland:

To recap initially they defended their false representation them when caught and confronted by scientist they retracted their claim.

They were only off by a factor of 150x.

Out of curiosity, what is your evidence that the editors of Times Atlas are liberal?

There are many conservatives who believe in MMGW. John Huntsman and Chris Christie are two examples that come to mind. In fact, most polls show that at least 25% of conservatives believe in global warming.

Both are pubs and neither are conservatives culturally, Christie is somewhat of a fiscal conservative. Huntsman is a liberal.
