You are right it outrageous that people who aren't citizens are voting. We should all have to show a photo id. I have to show more documents to renew my drivers license or cash a check than I have to show to vote.

Off hand i don't see what the big deal is in having a picture id since most people who would be voting drive a car. On the other hand i don't believe for a second that 5,000 illegals got to vote in Clorado last year.

I posted a thread about a group being caught submitting 26,000 illegal voter registrations I have no problem believing 5,000 illegal votes were cast in CO.

One would hope that the process of verifying registrations would be much more rigorous -- merely submitting information for voter registration is meaningless.

There were 1.4 million votes cast in the Senate race and 1.6 million for Governor. Assuming the number is correct, that 5000 represents 1 out of 300 voters or 0.33% fraud rate. That is not so hard to believe but I'd like to see their methodology.

Agreed, registering to vote and voting a person should verify their identity just like they do for any other transaction.

When somebody votes illegally (for whatever reason) they are infringing on the voting rights of citizens.

Everyone should be for honest elections where the only votes are legal votes.

Early on, one of the worries of the Motor Voter Law which allowed people to register to vote when they renewed their licenses was the potential for fraud. Unfortunately it has been realized in some instances...

Why in the name of God are we supposed to slobber, gush, slop and fawn over Illegal Aliens, they broke our laws when they entered this country.
    They Are Criminals.

Slurping and slobbering over illegal aliens is a form of blatant racism.

"God Damn America" (jug ears spritual advisor for many years said that) the obama family calls him "Uncle Jeremiah" he also is a known racist.

I wasn't commenting on identity verification.

I have no problem with identity verification, as long as it's something virtually all legal voters can meet.

registering to vote should be made as easy as possible.

That doesn't mean rigorous verification shouldn't or can't follow.

What stats I referred to the number YOU posted, I have no first hand knowledge. I merely stated it didn't seem unreasonable. What stats are you referring to ?

    What facts have you presented?

Do you feel people should have to identify themselves to vote?

In many states you don't have to provide ID as a matter of fact when a law was passed recently in Ga to provide for a photo id to be provided when voting groups challenged it in court.

Georgia Supreme Court upholds state voter ID law | Political Insider

There are many who are against voters having to identify themselves to prevent voter fraud.

Can you please site some facts about voter fraud. Seems to me the GOP is up to their old tricks.

The CO Sec of State said 5,000 illegal votes in CO. If you have facts to contradict that please present them. I accept the findings of the Sec of State of CO.

"Colorado conducted the study by comparing the state’s voter registration database with driver’s license records."

How about people who don't have a drivers license or moved from Denver to Fort Collins?

If Colorado missed by 5,000 voters they should be banned from the Union.
