My vote goes to Phillip Dorsett from Miami.

He's expected to run the fastest 40 time of any Hurricane ever. Estimated around 4.2. Yeah, he's pretty damn fast.

The Patriots were lucky that injury prone players like Edelman and Gronk both stayed healthy this year. Truthfully we'd be screwed if either of them went down for an extended period of time, and thats scary considering there histories. Without Gronk we would have no deep threat and teams could just sit on our WR's short routes. Our Superbowl offensive game plan wouldn't have worked without Gronk.

Amendola was invisible all regular season, but he came on strong during the playoffs. Not sure what to think of Amendola going into 2015, but he can definitely be upgraded.

LaFell is good but he isn't taking the top off the defense. Dobson is a big question mark and he might not even be on the team next year.

Our skill players are quick and smart, but none of them are burners. Dorsett is just that, and would take the top off defenses. Please give Brady this talent for the last few years of his career. Our only WR deep threat, sadly, was Brian Tyms. Brady trying to force it to Gronk led to him getting picked off a lot down the stretch. Speed doesn't grow on trees and if Dorsett's still there at #32 I would pull the trigger.

Dorsett is the type of WR that can turn a 5 yard slant into a 50 yard TD, or run past an entire secondary to catch a long bomb. He averaged 25 yards per catch this past season. I think his best football is still ahead of him. Should be there at the end of the 1st rd unless he really tears it up at the Combine. With the new rules and emphasis put into place the past couple seasons that protect WR's, smaller receivers have been flourishing more than ever (TY Hilton, Jeremy Maclin, Emmanuel Sanders, Antonio Brown, Randall Cobb, etc)

He doesn't even run. He glides. and if our offense has a weakness, its lack of speed and deep threat. Dorsett would give us one of the more unpredictable, versatile, offenses in the league.

I know Brady isn't throwing a lot of deep passes at this point in his career, but Dorsett would still be valuable on sweeps, screens, slants, and the occasional deep ball. He also has extra value as a punt returner.

I'd rather not use a 1st or 2nd on one. My pick would be Tyler Lockett - K-St. I think he'll be a faster version of Amendola. Solid receiver and a good return guy. He can back him up this year and replace him in 2016. Allows us to get a couple of linemen before we hit receiver.

End of the 1st round? He's projected to be a 3rd rounder. Tiny guy, interesting but pats don't do much deep ball throwing. Then there's the whole "can he learn the playbook" thing. Don't know if the team needs 3 slot wrs plus boyce who may be ready to play or not.

Ken bell in 5th 6th round is someone they might like.

injury prone players like Edelman

Sorry but Edelman isn't injury prone. He had one year where he missed a handful of games but before that he was behind Welker for 3 years.

I wouldn't mind using a 1st on WR.

Our biggest needs are DT, OG, and that's about it.

Belichick has been going with veteran FA's at DT and plugging in unknowns and having decent success with them (Alan Branch, Sealver Siliga, Chris Jones, Kyle Love, Brandon Deaderick, Shaun Ellis, Gerard Warren, etc). So while I would like a DT in the 1st rd to be groomed behind Wilfork, I wouldn't be surprised if BB passed on a DT either.

OG is a need but you can find really good Guards in the 2nd, 3rd, 4th rounds.

Some might list DE as a need but I strongly disagree. If we draft a DE in the 1st rd…. where would he play? Chandler Jones and Ninkovich are the starting DE's and they take up the most playing time. Akeem Ayers was excellent filling in for Jones, and even he didnt get many snaps when Jones came back. Easley can also play DE. Either way, you don't use a 1st rd draft pick for a player to sit on the bench. If you want a depth guy or a situational/3rd down pass rusher, just re-sign Akeem Ayers.

He was injured at the end of this season.

We are lucky he didnt miss more time and was tough enough to stick it out until the end. You could tell he was "playing through it" in the Superbowl, but you can't always expect players to do that.

Projections are useless before the Combine.

Brian Stork was proected as a 7th rounder/UDFA and the Pats took him in the 4th rd last year.

Sorry for the confusion. I didn't mean Dorsett would go that early. Just that I didn't want any WR with the first or second round picks. Most draft people think he'll run the fastest 40 at the combine. If he does, could move up to 2nd.

dorial green-beckham is an intriguing guy but his trouble with the playbook at Missouri kind of scares me away more than his off the field issues

Late 2nd round-early 3rd round: Rashad Greene
Late 4th round-5th round: Titus Davis

I think we should use every draft pick we have on WR's and get Larry Fitzgerald, Dez Bryant and Demaryius Thomas in Free Agency. The only way to build a successful franchise is through high draft pick/big name wide receivers.o_O

Oh come on.

Options for late rounds/ UDFA. Hard to find tape on either of these, so in some respects I'm doing a Kiper on it and basing a lot of my opinion on other peoples reports:

Nigel King, Kansas. Tall, fast and good hands. Seems to be a slightly awkward route runner.

Neal Sterling, Monmouth. Tall, powerful, precise route runner, great hands, long arms and catches the ball away from his body so has a massive catch radius. Not the fastest.

I don't really see Dorsett as a very good fit for our offense. Not when we already have Edelman, and maybe, Amendola for what would probably be his role in this offense, short/intermediate fast stuff. Sure he is fast and can take the top off the defense. But that has never really been a big part of our offense. Brady isn't really the perfect deep thrower for small guys either, he kind of rockets those balls in too, instead of giving receivers time to adjust to the ball. That works better with tall receivers.

I think that the fade receiver is something that is very overrated by our fans as we aren't really that kind of offense. I'd much rather have a bigger receiver that can do intermediate stuff and be physical in the catch. Kind of like LaFell. That might be Dobson, but I really don't know. I'm willing to give Dobson a pass for this season because he basically missed all of the off-season, which makes it really hard for a second year player to get better and get a role in the offense.

2 questions every time:

1) Can they handle the playbook and run their routes to a Brady standard?
2) Can they get separation in the NFL?

I really don't mind what 'type' of receiver we take - it's hard enough finding players who can do these two things, without saying they have to be specialists at certain routes as well...
