Presuming Josh is scooped up as a head coach elsewhere, and seeing how, per the NFL Today, Mike Martz is not likely to be retained as SF OC if Mike Singletary is retained as head coach there...

I know the Pats typically go internal to promote coaching but there are exceptions. On the other hand, Martz so far as I know is not part of the Belichick fraternity.

Just curious what y'all think about this possibility? How Martz' philosophy might work with Brady/Moss/Welker at al.

Count me on the "no way Martz as OC" side.

Belichick has a lot of respect for Martz but I don't see it happening anytime soon Josh or no Josh.

I'm sure BB will promote from within. Bill O'Brien is next in line imo

Considering how the people on this board complain about the lack of running game with Josh, I think there'd be some issues hiring Martz. No thanks.

Do you like your QB getting sacked? Do you like you QB vulnerable to fumbles? Do you like your offense to take forever to run their routes? Then Mike Martz is your man!

Hiring Martz would be like putting Favre in a room full of Pats fans right now.

Well, that preception is just plain wrong. The Pats as a team accumulated the most rushing yards since 1983. Of course, that might have been with Cassel managing games as he came up to speed as opposed to going bombs away with Brady in there.
