During last seasons 2006 campaign, what event during the season made you worried and scared about the future of that season and our SB chances? (which of course fell short)

    Was it.....

The Jax game where Brady went down after a hit and did not immediately bounce back up as usual?

The game where Seau broke his arm and you knew the LB corp was even less in depth?

Shortly after 2 of Goskowski's first few FGs were blocked?

When Harrison went down for the season in the Tennessee game?

When you found out that Maroney had some kind of shoulder problem and possibly was out a few games and may not be the same runner as in the first 1/4 of the year?

    Or something else?

For me it was the Pats floundering away in the third quarter of the home game against Detroit and finding themselves eight points down with 13 minutes to go.

All the neuroses I was suffering about the team and its abilities were horribly exposed in that hour or so and my faith was sorely tested.

Regular season: when Seau broke his arm. The Brady hit scared the hell out of me but I knew he was going to be ok. I knew as soon as I saw Seau's arm act like jellythat he was gone for the season.

Overall: The entire second half of the Colts game. It was like a bad dream that I couldn't wake up from.

I think you mean when Harrison went down for the season in the Tennessee game. Not the Minnesota game. I think that losing Harrison against the Titans made the uphill climb of the play-offs nearly impossible. Losing him more than anyone else.

    Detroit game:

I was sitting in my seat and put my beer down to let someone walk by (Someone needs to tell people to get in their g'damn seats by gametime). Anyhow, I heard a noise as the guy walked by and for a split second, I thought he kicked my beer over. He didn't and the world was right again.

The Lions game didn't bother me too much. I knew they were going to win that, no matter what the Lions did in the first part of the game.

The scariest moment for me was easily when Addai walked into the endzone with a minute left in the AFCC. That was when things got real urgent.

Harrison's injuries were catastrophic last year. First he goes down in the first series against the Colts (where we would go on to lose 2 consecutive home games). Then he went down the week before the playoffs in a game that he didn't need to be playing in.

If I am not mistaken, didn't we have a shot at the 3rd seed at the time of that game? If I am correct, then yes, we needed to win that game.

Yeah if the Colts had lost their final game we would have been the third seed and hosted the AFC Championship game.

I don't think he should have been playing because we didn't need him in the lineup to win that game.

    Belichick doesn't think like that.
If he wants to win a game he will put in whoever will make the team better.

    1. The hit on Brady WAS spearing.
    2. Rodney going down, I thought it was going to affect us, but not as much as it did.

Not necessarily. The whole playoff landscape would have changed. We would have had to beat Baltimore and Indy would have beat San Diego for NE to host the title game.

Can you explain putting Cassel in at QB with a 3-point lead in the 4th quarter?

The Rodney injury was a full blown kick in the ballsack; I felt we were screwed after that, and while watching the second half meltdown vs the Dolts, him not being on the field was all I could think of............

I think we did - If you remember,The Titans at that time along with the hot rookie QB were the hottest team in the league winning something like 6 or 7 in a row or something like that.

When a team like that is on a roll you need to bring, and play your best players- Harrison definately was one of them.

Regardless, the Patriots would have had a better chance of hosting the title game if they were the three seed instead of the four seed. That alone is worth it.

Well, we obviously didn't need him to win since he was hurt in the early going.
