Interesting find that none of our esteemed media did not cover on either side of the aisle.. asleep at the wheel once again... guess Nancy Grace's Nipple flaw is more important.

The Solyndra Loans began under Bush and Bush wanted the loans conditionally guaranteed.. but the Obama Administration slowed the process down..

Gee wonder why Darrell Issa did not investigate the whole story, maybe he would have found out the truth... there plenty of blame to go around here.

They were applied for under Bush, due to the potential problems they weren't approved it was Obama who gave our money to his donors.

Guess in your rightie view of the world you missed the previous statements, the loan was initially approved by the Bush Adm.

Solyndra contributed to both parties.. once again for those who choose not to read...

Wait, I thought the Bush DOE was a subsidiary of Halliburton...why invest in "clean tech"?

Why "invest" in both parties' fortunes, if you're one of the players?

It's certainly not new for energy concerns that specialize in petrochemicals to simultaneously make anemic investments in green initiatives. Hell, BP's logo is some kind of sunflower or something. I mean, unless it's that rarest of flowering plants, the petroleum blossom.

You really think Chevron's putting all their money into renewables to salve the conscience of their attractive young idealistic school teacher in their 30-second spot?

It's a fig leaf, as was the Bush/Cheney/Haliburton trickle of funds to alternatives.

Much to the shock of righties, the present administration wants to actually get a substantial slice of our power out of "alternatives" by 2020... however, that includes nuclear. We're still looking at a small slice of the pie coming from renewables, solar included. It's still too little.

But everybody sees the facts about the ice caps melting, end everybody knows we lose thousands of lives fighting over oil, and everybody except 13 knows why... so the people have a good deal of interest in changing the way we produce power. It's always nice... even for the pubbies... to make the people feel like they're doing something to stop an impending environmental catastrophe.

Sure it was a Bushie contract getting rubber-stamped, not an Obama initiative. But check out the rightie delight over one -- one -- alternative energy company possibly representing corruption.

Taint a thousand alternative energy contracts based on one you can tie to underperformance and/or corruption, and blame Obama for a Bush contract while you're at it?

    Score!

Actually, I remember hearing that they bought up a lot of the patents for alternatives...thereby "investing" in eliminating the competition (at least for awhile).

No shock at all that they are living in fantasy-land...unless you mean a substantial slice of a substantially lower amount of total energy.

Solar, wind, geothermal and hydro will never be able to provide enough.

Check your facts. Arctic sea ice extent has been declining while the Antarctic has been increasing.

The impending humanitarian catastrophe will be much worse.
