What is the Olympic ideal?

    the IOC separates the competition by countries but honestly there is so much transiency that some competitors haven't even been citizens of a country more than a year. Some(Russian b-ball team) ply for outher countries.

    then we have paid athletes playing. I have to admit the first dream team was cool but after that it's been lousy and should be scrapped.

    so is it an amateur competition or should it be the best athletes even if they are paid?

    should we even have the olympics now? should it be where you were born? or where you've resided as a citizen for x-number of years.

    It goes by where you were born ... I'm 99% sure.
    I don't believe amateur is a part of it anymore like in the past.

    The olympic ideal has changed over the years, I enjoy it now as much as I enjoyed it then... great competition, do not watch BB as if the USA does not blow everyone away they are not trying.. great personal stories make the competition better.
