John McCain has refused to release his medical records and has indicated that he will, in time. What does in time mean? My guess is that it means in time for his doctors, and others, to fudge the reports and cover up the truth.

Regarding his facial cancer, or melanoma as it is called. My understanding that he has had four occasions of it and that it is of the most serious nature.

Secondly, we as the American public, before we elect a president have the right to know if he is taking any kind of special medication that is being used to control his lfiery temper and what happens if he goes off of the medication.

Thirdly, could he be in the very early stages of Alzheimers disease as he seems to have an awful lot of what is called \"senior moments\" in his case.

These are questions that need to be answered loong before he is officialy made the nominee of the republican party in case I, and the rest of the American public, decide to vote for him for president.

And please don\'t bore us with answers that refer back to any previous candidate or public official. That was then and this is now and this particular election may be the most important one inthe history of the world and in fact might hold the survival of this planet in its hands.

We have the right to know about John McCain.

You'll have plenty of time to see him, right now he's just letting his opponent get bloodied - no need to get involved in the fray right now.

I never thought of him that way but seeing as you mention it, he does seem quite robotic. Danger Will Robinson.

    LOL.

No love for McCain from this corner.

(although, it's interesting, one of the last threads NEMosiT started before NEM was banned was about McCain and his medical records. Too bad that one was purged from the database, huh, Mosi?)

I think his medical records are his right. What's next DNA testing and only people with certain DNA can be president? Psychological testing?

You're right!!! We need to know right away!!! I mean, the election is next week and...

Oh wait, we're not voting for another 6 months? Oh, well, forget it then, it would be asinine to say that medical records should be available right this second.

An honest question though, have Hillary and Obama released their medical records yet? What about our concern that Obama will drop dead from lung cancer since he smoked cigarettes?

OTOH, don't we have the right to know if he's got some sort of bizarre disease, or cancer or something?

But did William Jefferson Blythe Clinton ever release his records, or did he just release a statement to the effect that he was okay except for allergies?

and if he has a disease then so be it.... FDR would not have been president if they thought polio made him a weak president.

i think we need to keep big brother out of this.

I don't really disagree with you, but I will point out that FDR went to great lengths not to appear as though he'd had polio or was affected by it, which of course was much easier then given the lack of the 24/7 predatory news cycle and the respect still afforded individuals then.

you are right on FDR hiding it. what could be scary is if someone was 45 as a president and we got to the point of identifying dna that indicates alzheimers. it would be used to destroy the credibility of a president.

Seems to me he best pick a good running mate.

MosiT, you should not even worry about his health unless...gasp, even you think he's going to get elected.

Ok, who should his VP be then.

    Romney would be my hope.

I don't think it will be Romney. Most likely, it will be that chap from Minnesota (whose name esacpes, the Republican governor) or maybe Condi. I didn't think it would be Condi, but apparently the electability numbers went up with Condi paired with him.

    What a strange election.

Before the man or any other candidate becomes the official candidate of any party, are you suggesting that the American people do not deserve to know the physical condition of him/her, especially one that is already in his 70s and has already had some serious medical conditions?

This is not a case of asking Sylvester Stallone to divulge his physical condition before he makes Rocky 13.

First of all time lwere very different in the 1930s when FDR was first elected and if I am not mistaken his polio was no where near severe as it was many, many years later. He was not confined to a wheelchair when first elected if I recall.

Dont try to compare the way things were done 70 plus years ago to today.
