Sorry if this type of thread has already been started. I just want to see two things after this game: our record being 1-0 and we didn't have any injuries. That's it. That's all that matters to me. In what is sure to be a very tough conference again, we need every win we can get simply for a playoff bye, let alone homefield. I'm going to try and not get too emotional in either direction after Week 1 because we've seen the history, at least for this team, that it really doesn't show you exactly how the season will go. In 2002, we soundly controlled Pittsburgh defensively and Donald Hayes looked like a future star in New England. By season's end, our defense was exposed and Hayes was a huge disappointment. In 2003, do I need to say? Nothing went right against Buffalo, we had several key injuries and some even wanted Belichick fired after cutting Milloy and seeing how it turned out. 17-1 the rest of the way. In 2004, we won that shootout against Indy. The downside was that James ran all over our defense and had many concerned that the losing Washington and Hamilton put a hole in our D. We finished the year with one of the top run defenses once again. Look at tonight in Indy. I like I hope many others will give props to that defense but I don't expect that we're going to see a worst-to-first unit or anything when all is said and one. Again, I just want heath and a W. Besides that, whatever.
