Those pillars of democracy, symbols of all that is good about this country, standard bearers for the christian way, the folks of godhatesfags.com, the Westboro Baptist Church are being their old christian selves and going to the funeral of Christina Green..

Interesting strategy of how they will deal with them.. more stress for an already overworked police/sheriffs department..

Nothing quite like some religious extremists to ruin an already bad day...

This might be the answer. So many people are disgusted with that group. What if thousands of people show up and wear angel wings drowning out the protesters. They would never announce they were going to another funeral again, which means they can't call attention to themselves.

They won't stop going to funerals until someone does what post #2 suggested; i.e. when they're dead.

It is interesting that after a day of extreme violence, and the subsquent rhetoric.. the answer seems to be more violence.

I know the loons will be after me for this one but it seems strange how this screwed up country of ours reacts to things, for the last several days the American Main Stream Media and all of the spluttering left wing newscasters have gone completely insane trying their best to shift the blame for the Shooting and Murders in Arizona to a woman up in Alaska (Palin) who happens to be a Political Force that they see as a huge threat to all of their far out slobbering f-cking socialist left wing bullsh!t agenda's but this same Filthy Left Wing Media will all but ignore these "Baptist Bastards" all their HATE & FEAR will be directed at Sarah Palin while the Baptist Bastards are buried in the Used Car section on page 732.

Martin Luther King Jr was a Baptist I wonder what he would have to say about these scumsucking pigs who call themselves "Baptists" MLK was a devout Christian would he consider these Vermin Christians, I would love to hear what Billy Graham has to say about them?

I don't necessarily advocate violence against them, but I won't be shedding a boatload of tears if it happened either. With their legal prowess, you're not going to get them to stop through the legal process. It will stop when the movement loses interest (highly unlikely, they love the pub), they die of old age, or are otherwise compelled to stop. Those are just the facts.

So you're suggesting that the left is now in bed w/gay-hating religious freaks? That makes a lot of sense, harry...

btw, have you ever considered that maybe the less press coverage these as*holes get, the better?

Sounds like a familiar argument that they really are not crosshairs, but the lines in a surveryor's transit.. it is what it is, the saturation of violence throughout our culture.

My nephew is a video illustrator for Kaos Studios, and recently he was on a video pimping his newest product.. and he referred to the value of this game that it avoids "Massacre Fatigue".. called him on his choice of words.

The reality is that violence as an answer to just about anything has become part of the fabric of our lives.. our language is inundated with metaphors of violence and war.. wonder if that is why we as a country love war so much???

I advocate violence against them 100%. Sorry if that isn't politically correct. But the day some psychopath like Jared Loughner brings an M-16 with him, hides it under his trenchcoat, then mows down that crowd will be a good day for America.

When the answer to violence is more violence, we no longer deserve to exist as a free country.. life has become cheap filled with casualties of collateral damage, and only useful for political purposes..

    Violence is never the answer...

There have been plenty of instances in history where violence has been the answer. This is one of them.

The nice thing about the Westboro Baptist group is that both sides seem to hate them...and that's a good thing

That is the one issue I wrestle with, and am still in personal conflict as the collateral damage numbered into the millions.. have this thing about killing unarmed women and children..

BTW for those of you who espouse violence towards Westboro Baptist Church, usually the picketers have women and children with them.. maybe they could be collateral damage as well. Life is getting very cheap.

I'd love to see them try that at an Iranian Funeral, what a great You Tube it would make watching the Iranians carving the Baptists heads off with a machette and then cutting their tongues out with can openers.

I don't agree with what they do or say but they have the right too....That's the cost of having rights and freedoms. If people would quit giving them attention they would stop doing it, I guess the apple is too hard to pass up.

That's why I think this community has it right this time. There will be so many angels you will not be able to see the Haters. The next time the Haters say they will be attending a funeral, more angels. Then, the haters don't tell anyone they are attending and they don't get covered.

Nothing in life is that simple.

As you've already discussed w/Kontra, WWII poses an interesting example. Maybe the Civil War does, too. The American Revolution does.

Non-violence is a potent tool, but it's just one tool, and it takes pretty strong people to practice it. Sometimes violence is necessary as well.

On a more micro level, I've long believed that, paradoxically, people would be more civil in personal interactions if there were more a threat of violence. I'm not advocating killing or stabbing, but "playground" justice. Having lived in rougher areas and nicer areas, I can tell you that people in nice areas are often real as*holes to other people. That's not because they're worse people than the people in the rougher areas -- it's because they think (usualy correctly) there will be no repercussions to their words.

Aren't you the same, and I might have you mixed up with someone else in here, who once told us a story about some drug dealing criminal type loser from your town, who one day "disappeared" so to speak by way of some vigilantiism, which you were ok with? I remember the story vaguely from like 3 years ago or so.

You are aware the the Westboro folks usually have women and children picketing, specific to that event how hypocritical would it be if someone were to take them out at a funeral for a 9 year old child..

Think peace is a better alternative, this violence stuff is getting us no where. have watched this crazy cycle since Nov. of 1963 and it has solved nothing except to create a whole bunch of anxiety in a nation, that has not experienced peace in a very long time.
