1 game out of 1st place in the AFC East.

There are a grand total of 3 teams in the AFC with less losses than us.

    2001: 3-2
    2003: 3-2
    2004: 5-0

By next Monday night, we can exchange gifts with the Chargers. A Chargers win over the Bills and a Patriots win over the Broncos puts both teams tied for first place in their respective divisions.

We're coming off a 20 point road loss to the Chargers, three weeks after the Jets lost by 19 to the Chargers on the road. We've yet to lose consecutive games and come out of our west coast trip with a split, a result a majority of people saw prior to Brady's injury.

I'd suggest not throwing in the towel yet, considering the fact we're one week away from possibly being at the top of the AFC East.

With the way this D is playing, and with Cassell starting....we are heading for a losing streak. Even the Rams game is no gimme with Cassell starting.

And one week away from possibly being at the bottom of the AFC East as well

It can be looked at both ways.....

I myself am not looking forward to a mad and hungry Denver team getting beaten at home yesterday where they seldom lose.

Good point on the towel, we need it to wipe the spittle off the screen as the foaming fanatics celebrate the Patriots loss.

Denver is coming off a two game losing streak, losing yesterday at home and the week prior to the 1-4 Chiefs. Their offense has not looked elite the previous two games.

As for Denver being mad, Bill Belichick is 9-0 after double digit losses since 2003.

Like I said on another thread-it's only week 6, not even 1/2 way into the season. It's a marathon, not a 1600 meter wind-sprint.

Keep your heads up-the Pats are still a good and disciplined team-they should still win the AFCE.

Well no better way to get your offense back on an elite level then to play our woeful pathetic defensive secondary giving up average of 30 points a game since late september

Brandon Marshall may be matched up against Deltha 'O Neal who could not handle a replacement Chargers WR this week and if Eddie Royal is back it won't help any either.

On the other side, the Broncos have the worst (32nd) ranked passing defense in the league.

Cassel will be playing the statistically worst ranked secondary for the second week in a row. (San Diego moved up to 31 after tonight's game)

We need the results to be better this time.

    We're 1-2 in our last 3 games.

Including 25 and 20 point home and road blow outs respectively.

    We were 2-3 in 2001.

Anyways its good to see a thread with some sense rather than the same ridiculous panic from people who were expecting we'd not skip a beat after losing a HOF QB. It's not going to be a pretty season, there will be growing pains. But take it week by week and as long as we stay within a game of Buffalo until that showdown at Gilette we are in no kind of hole.

People aren't complaining because our record is bad.

People are complaining because Cassel looks absolutely LOST out there and the defense is getting burned.

Can I be more worried about the Pats secondary than QB? Is that allowed?

Seriously-I was one of the few who DIDN'T buy into all of the Cowboys hype this last offseason. It's not so much they have guys with character issues et al on this team, but overall, the talent level is HUGELY overrated(this AIN'T Jimmy Johnson's Boys from the 90's). Their LBs are slow(aside from Ware, that is), they don't have a 330+ pound NT like in other 3-4 D's, their WRs can't get separation well, their OL isn't very athletic, etc, etc.

Honestly-I actually feel bad for Wade b/c 1) He doesn't have the personnel to run his scheme properly, and 2) Even Coach "Iron Fist" couldn't install discipline in this team, and now Wade is getting alot of flack for not doing so.

Pt being that this has never been a smart football team to begin with(since Jimmy J left, that is), and to boot, there's no leadership from them either, whcih has been their downfall.

Anyhow-back to the Pats-they're very disciplined(only like 15 penalties over FIVE games?), they have alot of leadership(despite Brady's absence), and they know how to motivate themselves very well.

For that matter too-look at the Redskins today. So what if they lost at home to the worst team in all of football? Does that mean their season is over? No-of course not. Coming off 2 very emotional NFCE road games probably had them gassed coming into this game.

Like I said-the Pats still should be in the thick of things come Dec.

He had some signs of OKness. The first drives of each half looked alright until the missed FG and the first-and-goal from the 1 disaster, respectively. He was making first downs and I was happy. And then I was not.

No that is not allowed. Either you think Cassel sucks, and love Culpepper, or you're not allowed to post.

didnt you get the memo? :D

That's because he's not letting foolish emotion cloud is judgement.

And also because he's totally awesome.

The problem is that OKness doesn't cut it. To be successful New England needs good quarterback playing and not ok one. I'm not sure Kevin O'Connell is the answer. The team doesn't need a qb for the future but needs one now. I would prefer the team trades a veteran qb. My favourite would be Damon Huard. I'm not saying he would lead us to the superbowl but he is more than capable to get the ball to the playmakers like Randy Moss, Wes Walker and Kevin Faulk.
