You realize, of course, that the only way to put this thing to bed is to go 13-3 and win the Super Bowl, right?
That's literally the only way to avoid the asterisk. If after this, with the eyes of the league on us, we can put together another stellar season, you can say, 'well, sure, they were taking defensive signals but even when they couldn't do that anymore they still won a ring.' That will actually put this all to bed, but anything less isn't going to work.
I can only imagine that this is going through each and every one of those players' minds right now. It starts Sunday. If we win that Bolts game by a solid margin, that's the right beginning. But if we go 10-6 this year, and this is some major distraction....whoooo.
Boy oh boy the stakes are high.
