Did he sustain an injury in the Colts game? or is this another BS report from the Pats injury report?
I think he has strained lips - from running his mouth during the Colts game.

If running your mouth causes strained lips, Polian's would be in traction
Mike Reis of the Globe did an online chat earlier today and says he doesn't seem to think there's any big problem with Welker and expects him to play.
Patriots
Questionable
ILB Eric Alexander (knee)
CB Eddie Jackson (knee)
G Stephen Neal (shoulder)
OLB Mike Vrabel (team decision)
WR Wes Welker (team decision)
S Eugene Wilson (ankle)
Probable
QB Tom Brady (right shoulder)
Questionable would seem to imply health problem (body part unspecified). Maybe the flu.
i think bb is resting him... welker is a little banged up... and he will be needed in much tougher games playing 100%... this will also give chad jackson more opportunities to play and see if he can really contribute... if they rest him, i say its a good call, i think we are gonna win anyway w/o him this week..

Yeah it occurred to me that CJ could play, but BB would not rest a player unless he were really unable to play health-wise. I am unaware that Welker or Vrabel was ever "banged up" enough to miss action por practice. This appears to be something new. Not to get alarmed or anything, but BB doesn't just rest guys. If Welker cannot go, don't forget that--besides Gaffney and Jackson-- he could also activate Troy Brown
