He also ran a 4.4 40 time at Marshall, too....

Dobson has the size and speed combination that is ideal in NFL receivers. At 6-3, 210 pounds, Dobson was unable to participate in the 2013 NFL Combine drills due to a hamstring injury, but showed off very impressive speed at the Marshall Pro Day and was timed in the low 4.4-range in the 40-yard dash. Couple that with great hands and he has the capability to be a top receiver.

Re: Why the New England Patriots Absolutely Must Draft Aaron Dobson

Well, they just did with the 59th pick.

Some think it was a little high for him. But there's no denying his size and especially speed.

Plus, Marshall wide-outs tend to find a home in Foxboro. I'm thinking of Troy Brown and Randy Moss.

    This is beautiful.

Wasn't he that kid who had the sick one-handed catch in the back of the endzone last year?

Just watched his highlight video. Two sick one handed catches. Big fan of the big target. We Are Marshall

Welcome to New England Patriots Aaron Dobson

If he gets remotely like those 2, we could have the best offense in NFL history within the next 3 years.

Dobson was my draft binky! Im so happy! Great Bday present for me. Patriots got a tall fast WR that can stretch the field.

I'm happy, if we someone get a guy like Wheaton, Da'Rick Rogers or Patton then we're doing great

The writer nailed it......"The Patriots currently have the No. 59 overall draft selection in the second round and may use their first-round pick to trade back for more picks. Obtaining Dobson should be doable."

Inconsistent senior year. Makes tough catches look easy, but drops easy ones. Needs seasoning, but has the tools.
Savvy route-runner whose body control and reliable hands made him a standout at the Senior Bowl. He sets up defensive backs well, selling his routes to push them deep. Can leap high, contort his body and haul in difficult passes. -- Rob Rang

maybe his inconsistent senior year was due to the QB throwing to him was not very good? let see what he does with a HOF QB.

Finally ....a legit corner fade WR. Save Glasskowski :) some diving onto his twice broken arm

Drops easy ones? Pretty sure he didn't drop a single pass at all last year.

Well Well....we have a discrepancy here. Rang says he drops easy ones......but the BleacherReport writer posts....."There is clearly a lot to like about the former Marshall standout, but what is most impressive is his ridiculously reliable hands.
According to John Pollard of STATS.com via Twitter, Dobson had the best hands in college football last season—he didn't drop a single pass."

We've done ok with Marshall players in the past. Let's hope it continues.

He's a bit raw but that could be a good thing in terms of learning this offense.

Overall I'm pleased - with any luck we addressed my top two priorities - rushing the passer and the need for a deep threat WR

It's probably no coincidence that after parting ways with Welker and Lloyd, Belichick opts for a deep threat who didn't have one dropped pass last season.

Rang rules........but I choose to ignore the drops and insist he's perfect......because he's a Pat. Guess I've been "Deuced"

Hopefully he's not as raw as the reports say. Looks like a really nice pick. Was skeptical about the vikes trade but it's looking really good right now.

I'm digging this pick. Lot's of upside. I don't know what "raw" means, but we'll see. The backhand catch highlight is sick.
